[Bug 1918924] [NEW] flashing sub menu when opening desktop properties
Public bug reported: Testing Xubuntu 21.04. When right-clicking on the desktop, the submenu for several actions appears. Re: [Bug 1774646] Re: package shim-signed 1.35+13-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: installed shim-signed package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Hi Steve, I really don't know. I did a clean install of xubuntu 18.10 (for testing purposes) on an existing partition on a laptop which also has 18.04 on another partition. That 18.10 installation ended with an error at the very end (ubiquity complained about not being able to install grub 2). Ubiquity seems to have decided that it was installing on a uefi-machine. Ever since then every update complains about shim-signed and grub-efi-amd64-signed. You'll find more bugs reported by me about shim and grub-efi. I'm just an end user, I did not knowingly do anything to install shim or grub-efi. Don't know what they are, really. Is there anything more I can provide to help? [Bug 1773210] Re: Xubuntu 18.10 desktop wall paper not always changing when switching desktop
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected cosmic ** Description changed: Testing Xubuntu 18.10. When switching desktops it seems the wallpaper is not always changing accordingly. Please see here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/x353x8esgcc1u6v/switching%20workspace.mp4?dl=0 I have 4 desktops; one of which I have set up to have my own wallpaper. The others have the default wallpapers. In the clip I switch between the desktops 1, 2, 3 and 4; switching to desktop 2: the wallpaper of the previous desktop remains visible. [Bug 1754935] [NEW] mate-calc crashed without a message
Public bug reported: Using xubuntu 18.04 daily, updated. Was not doing anything special. Did try out some wrong syntaxes, to test the calculator. Then a crash. [Bug 1490349] Re: 15:10 and 16.04: bluetoothd reports "Not enough handles to register service" at start
Just to -perhaps- add to any confusion: when I submit the command "sudo btmgmt le off" in terminal, I expected the command to simply do its thing (switch off le) and then return cli to the "waiting for input" status. [Bug 1540493] Re: package libutempter0:amd64 1.1.6-1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
I came accross the same error during the upgrade from 14.04 to 16.04. Halfway during the upgrade the screen went black and nothing seemed to happen. After some time I rebooted (reset button). The boot process did not finish. I got a terminal working and tried "sudo apt-get install -f". That seemed to work up to a point. Hey Tim Thanks for your advice. I did not realize I have ppa packages installed. But you are very likely right. Just one question, if I may: one of the first messages the normal upgrade process gives is that it will block the third party software sources before starting the upgrade process. In this case that also happened. Should that not have made the upgrade possible, just like purging the ppa's would? Just a n00b question... Op 4 nov. 2014 02:20 schreef Tim t...@feathertop.org: Looks like you have some ppa packages installed. Upgrades with ppa's installed are not supported, nor recommended. Public bug reported: When I needed to install something through synaptic, there were a lot of packages which needed an update. So I duly updated them. But then there was a system error, which resulted in this report. Before this I had wanted to upgrade to 14.10 (from 14.04) which failed because ubuntu-desktop could not be installed/upgraded (see bug #1387211). I did not realize the packages that needed to be updated, according to synaptic, were probably the updates for the upgrade.
