[Bug 1752829]

2019-10-28 Thread Yassine via ubuntu-bugs
Why is the core clock for this GPU (HAINAN) and what seems to have
codename OLAND hard-coded anyway? The other GPUs do not have their
clocks hard-coded, which allows them to be modified without modifying
and rebuilding the module.

Yup or install Windows 10 then clean it with a script. It's not that bad
really.

[Bug 1795921] Re: Out-of-Bounds write in systemd-networkd dhcpv6 option handling

2018-11-05 Thread yassine-mrabet
Hi,

There is still no updates available on bionic : according to
security.gentoo.org affected versions < 'systemd-239', while candidate
in bionic-updates is '237-3ubuntu10.3'. Is there any manual method to
fix it, while waiting for the updated version ?

[Bug 1798984] Re: Yaru theme installed but not enabled by default nor available after upgrade to Cosmic

2018-10-26 Thread Yassine via ubuntu-bugs
Turns out GNOME Tweaks caused this. I restored default settings in GNOME
Tweaks, then I logged out, and in a tty, I reinstalled ubuntu-session
and every part of the yaru theme:

sudo apt purge ubuntu-session yaru-theme-gnome-shell yaru-theme-gtk
yaru-theme-icon yaru-theme-sound
sudo apt install ubuntu-session yaru-theme-gnome-shell yaru-theme-gtk
yaru-theme-icon yaru-theme-sound

then after logging in, all the themes were applied correctly.

[Bug 1767264] Re: Window manager refresh rate is different from monitor refresh rate

2018-09-30 Thread Yassine
I might be experiencing a similar bug or the same one. 60Hz selected in
xrandr, but everything refreshes at 40Hz including glxgears. 40Hz is an
available option for the resolution of 1366x768, but 60Hz is selected.
Switching to 1360x768 gives a refresh rate of 59.96Hz that actually
works and everything syncs to it, so for now I am using this resolution.

[Bug 1771478] [NEW] switcheroo-control required by gnome-shell but not installed by default

2018-05-15 Thread Yassine
Public bug reported:

gnome-shell needs switcheroo-control in order to determine if the system
has a hybrid graphics configuration, so it displays the option to use
dedicated graphics card when the user right-clicks on an application,
and so it displays the name of the dedicated GPU in System Settings >
Details.

This package is missing from the fresh install of 18.04, and probably older
releases as well.
It can be installed by the user with the command: sudo apt install
switcheroo-control , but it should be installed by default considering its
importance.

How can I check which version of libinput I have? I was only able to
check the version of libinput-tools using apt-cache policy and that
package's version is 1.8.2-1ubuntu2. I do not know if those 2 packages
are the same or if their versions can differ from each other. I
installed all updates today with the software updater.

[Bug 1741839] Re: gdm3 lock screen (not log in) freezes sometime

2018-01-19 Thread Yassine
Here's what I got right when it freezed:
Jan 19 12:57:31 yassine-hp-notebook systemd-logind[1220]: Lid opened.

Jan 19 12:57:31 yassine-hp-notebook gnome-shell[2310]: Failed to apply DRM
plane transform 0: Permission denied
Jan 19 12:57:31 yassine-hp-notebook gnome-shell[2310]: Failed to read EDID from

Jan 19 12:57:31 yassine-hp-notebook gnome-shell[2310]: Failed to read EDID from
'eDP-1': No such file or directory
Jan 19 12:57:31 yassine-hp-notebook gnome-shell[2310]: Failed to read EDID from
'eDP-1': No such file or directory

After it freezed, I was still able to enter commands through SSH and the
machine responded normally, which I think confirms that only gnome-shell
is affected by this bug.

[Bug 1741839] Re: gdm3 lock screen (not log in) freezes sometime

2018-01-16 Thread Yassine
Now it is happening also before sliding the date/time screen up.
Unfortunately, It only happened when I was not watching the log. I am
trying to keep an android tablet connected via SSH to the affected
machine watching the outputs of that command you gave me most of the
time, so I hope I will get what you need as soon as possible.

** Description changed:

- Sometimes when I slide the lock screen with time and date up to input my
- password to unlock, everything freezes and I am unable to do anything
- but to hard reboot. I am talking about the lock screen (logged in
- already just locked).

[Bug 1456956] Re: Attach to proccess is missing from Run menu

2017-04-13 Thread Mohamed-Yassine MADDOURI
Hello,

I am using Ubuntu 16.04 and I couldn't find any solution.

* Tried the distro's version (4:4.7.3-0ubuntu1) of KDevelop: The "attach"
feature is missing.
* Tried the AppImage from
https://download.kde.org/stable/kdevelop/5.1.0/bin/linux/KDevelop-5.1.0-x86_64.AppImage
: The "attach" feature is missing there too.
* Tried building KDevelop in a (Ubuntu) Docker container: Build failed.

Are there any workarounds for attaching to a running process using
KDevelop?

Thank you in advance for your help.

[Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics

For those using Intel integrated chipsets, you can use UXA (instead of
SNA) acceleration method as a workaround:

--
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
--

Section "Device"
   Identifier "Intel Graphics"
   Driver "intel"
   Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"

I quite like this idea posted here on webup8:

http://www.webupd8.org/2011/02/unity-mockup-menu-integrated-in-
window.html

It also reminds me of how windows 7 handles menus (click Alt to toggle
on-off)
