[Bug 110975] Re: Install CD do not share on a local Ethernet

2008-04-26 Thread Yves Mulleneers
Better late than never...

I think that asking a Internet connection to share filesystem using
samba is not a good think. If the packetage samba should be included
in the CD. Permetting direct share with other computer on a LAN.

[Bug 179557] Re: Unsolicitated modifications in xorg.conf when rebooting

2008-01-01 Thread Yves Mulleneers
** Description changed:

I use Ubuntu 7.10 Gusty Gibbon.

I modified the /etc/X11/xorg.conf in order to obtain the 3D
acceleration. this opération is simply to replace nv by nvidia in
the section below (I will joint the entire bugged xorg.conf.

  Section Device
IdentifierNVIDIA Corporation NV34 [GeForce FX 5500]
  Drivernvidia
  BusIDPCI:1:0:0
  EndSection

I restart the graphical interface and the 3D is ready
(cntl+alt+backspace). I reboot and the file is changed without any
  notification.

The remplacement file cannot be used because :

  * there is no special keys in the belgian keyborad (AltGr)
  * there is no TTD1-6 (console screen acceded by cntl+alt+F1)
  * the resolution is small (800x600 instead of 1280x1024)
  * the screen flicks

- I will not try any further...
+ No screen with a correct configuration enable Xwindows to open display.
+ Removing displayconfig-gtk paquetage void this bug (configuration is
+ not destroyed) but the screen, of course, do not open.

manualy change configuration, restart graphical interface, manualy

[Bug 110975] Re: Install CD do not share on a local Ethernet

2007-12-24 Thread Yves Mulleneers
Yes, I think that the live CD shoud be used as system rescue CD.

But I cannot mention enough details to enable a correction. I only see
that the CD-Recorder was not recognised by the live CD, even if K3B was
installed.

I used a smbfs instead.

than problem number on.

One interesting feature could be to locate the positiuon of the files in
