[Bug 429369] Re: [i945GM] No screen(s) found after updgrade to karmic alpha 5
The only work around that has fixed this bug for me so far is adding i915.modeset=0 to my boot options. I don't have this bug in the lucid alpha which indicates it's been fixed in the kernel. Can it be backported to karmic? -- [i945GM] No screen(s) found after updgrade to karmic alpha 5 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/429369 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 188390] Re: Wireless works in 6.06, not in 7.10
You will need to provide some more information before this bug can be solved. I think that your wireless card is not being detected by the kernel. So I'm asking you to run the following commands in a terminal and attach the resulting files here or paste them here. uname -a uname-a.log cat /proc/version_signature proc_version_signature.log sudo lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.log dmesg dmesg.log These commands will allow some one to figure out what model/version your wireless card is and what drivers need to use it. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New = Incomplete -- Wireless works in 6.06, not in 7.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/188390 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It seems your card is being detected and placed as wlan0. If 'ACTIONTEC' is not your essid, please run the following commands. iwconfig essid linksys (replace linksys with your essid name) dhclient wlan0 ping www.google.com ping 64.233.187.99 Please paste the output here. These commands are manually trying to set your network settings and the ping commands is to see if it works or not. -- Wireless works in 6.06, not in 7.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/188390 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 185179] Re: card is not recognized in live session
I tested out your new package, and it managed to install without problem. iwconfig reported that a wlan0 device existed and after a little bit of time the Network Manager applet had a drop down list of wireless networks to connect to. However when selecting a network to connect to the applet would just report connecting. No connection was made, and I was unable to ping anything. -- card is not recognized in live session https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185179 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 185179] Re: card is not recognized in live session
Have the upstream changes been placed in Debian ? If so, then a sync could be requested. If not, I guess a packaging request must be made in order for this to get into Hardy. -- card is not recognized in live session https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185179 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 185179] Re: card is not recognized in live session
I proposed on the -devel mailing list that this package should be installed by default because it is needed to make the cards work with Ubuntu infrastructure. That in combination with an initialization script that runs on boot should fix the problem. -- card is not recognized in live session https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185179 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 173790] Re: USB Wlan device not detected (Prism2 chipset)
I downloaded Hardy Alpha2 and the live cd refused to work with my computer. It would get stuck randomly at the boot sequence and refuse to start X. I'll wait until Alpha3. I think however I know why my card refused to work with the gutsy livecd. The reason is that iwconfig and network manager will not work with the prism2_usb drivers unless the linux-wlan-ng package is installed and running. Once that package is installed and the computer is rebooted (the package adds something to the boot sequence), the card works fine. Therefore a solution to this problem is that the livecd should be built with the linux-wlan-ng package installed. It is a small package and I don't think it will do anything major to the livecd. I will try this out on my gutsy install the moment I can access it. -- USB Wlan device not detected (Prism2 chipset) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173790 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 173790] USB Wlan device not detected (Prism2 chipset)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22 I have a Linksys WUSB11 V3 Wlan dongle for my PC. It is supported by the Linux-wlan-ng drivers. Iwconfig reports that Wlan0 does not exist and thus I assume that it is not being detected. I have had this card working on Ubuntu and various other linux distros before, however that required either recompiling the kernel or setting up several bash scripts to run startup to get the device configured and running. Per the wiki page https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingHardwareDetection I'm attaching logs. ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.22 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- USB Wlan device not detected (Prism2 chipset) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173790 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
