[Bug 1879968] Re: Copy/paste still sometimes fails in LibreOffice and Wine apps
I do a lot of web work each day building websites for clients. When copying content from Libreoffice to firefox the content will only copy and paste every so often. I have gotten in the habit of using the shortcut multiple times to copy however this is only successful 60% of the time. I know when it has been copied as the content selected flashs when using the shortcut. If it does not flash I have to unselect and reselect to try again. This bug needs to be prioritised as it significantly impacts the use of the platform. [Bug 1878946] Re: Cannot install proprietary NVIDIA driver
This bug is not limited to just Kubuntu. I am chiming in as a Xubuntu 20.04.2 user. The driver I attempt to install from Driver Manager is 340.108. The results are identical to what is being reported here. And this bug affects ALL of my machines running v20.04. My Asus laptop with hybrid Nvidia GT218, my desktop with PNY GeForce 210, my i7 desktop with GT750, and others. So please count this as three reports, not just one. The only common denominator is v20.04 of the Ubuntu base OS. And FWIW, I am not a fan of Mint but it does not suffer from this bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1878946 Title: Cannot install proprietary NVIDIA driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-440/+bug/1878946/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I apologize for a double post but this looks like the better thread to report this, despite it's age. Everything was working perfectly until the massive update that came out last night, 06/06/2018. Now cannot find internal Atheros BT adapter in Blueman-applet. It appears to allow me to enable BT. Lights on but no one home. I too am affected. Crash in incoming call. Xubuntu 14.04, Jitsi 2.4.4997. Also applies to received text but only of a chat window needs to be spawned on receive. If the chat window is already open to the remote user, bidirectional chat works. Incoming calls still crash the client. BUT Both problems go away if, in Tools/Options/General, you uncheck the box for Use task bar / dock alerts on incoming calls and chats. [Bug 119899]
I stop worryng about edge cases by edge users Are those not the users who help nail down the bug per se? #c45 stop imap search Wouldn't it be better to indicate IMAP server deficiencies to the user and disable features for problematic users and not punish everyone else with dimished functionality? [ditto #46] There were other reasons to switch it - e.g., filters that check if a sender is in an address book only work locally How is that a reason? Local filters should run as local filters and not attempt to run as server filters. or we could figure out how to do hybrid searches, partly locally, partly on the server yes, please #48 Since I am the admin of my IMAP server That could allow for extensions to manipulate server's EXIM rules [for future messages] other workaround is to configure your IMAP folders for offline use That's not helpful in an ideal way. #39 [2007] Isn't IMAP trendy enough for the programmers to make it work? [Bug 44233] Re: mount udf dvd fails, possible wrong fstab entry
I'm using 10.04 Lucid; other ubuntu versions are probably similar. The temp fix may or may not work for all udf types. The bug seems to be caused by auto-mount. Auto-mount tries to mount udf dvd as type udf. However, udf dvd-video should be mounted as type iso9660. A temp fix is to manually mount the dvd drive. 1. Make a new folder to use as a mount point, or use any existing empty folder. sudo mkdir /media/dvd1 2. List your dvd drives with this command: wodim --devices 3. Look for dev=. Your dvd drive is likely to be /dev/scd0 The shortcut /dev/dvd may also work. 4. Unmount the folder, just in case. sudo umount /media/dvd1 5. Mount dvd drive. sudo mount -t iso9660 /dev/dvd /media/dvd1 or if your device is /dev/scd0 sudo mount -t iso9660 /dev/scd0 /media/dvd1 If you use vlc media player to play udf dvd-video, you may need to disable DVD menus. In vlc, Media Open Disc check No DVD menus Disc device = /media/dvd1 vlc command line: vlc dvdsimple:///media/dvd1 All commands used listed: --- sudo mkdir /media/dvd1 wodim --devices sudo umount /media/dvd1 sudo mount -t iso9660 /dev/dvd /media/dvd1 vlc dvdsimple:///media/dvd1 If you are mounting an udf iso, try sudo mount -t iso9660 -o loop /pathToIso/filename.iso /media/dvd1 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/44233 Title: mount udf dvd fails, possible wrong fstab entry To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/util-linux-ng/+bug/44233/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 792726] [NEW] Manufacturers PPD's are not recognized in UI but they are in CUPS web interface
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: system-config-printer I made a fresh Natty install days ago and added tweedledee's: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=341621... repository: http://www.bchemnet.com/suldr/ which contains Samsung's SPL-C proprietary SPL rasterizer and PPD's for their printers and installed samsungmfp-data and samsungmfp-driver packages. However after install (and even reboot) my printer model in particular Samsung CLP-310 (Color Laser) only shows foomatic filters while adding the printer or when trying to change drivers from the UI. Altough foomatic filter is shown and works it haves a very poorly performance in color conversion with any color profiler and bad resolution management which is not a real solution, I do amateur photography and I do print in this printer. By the way. I managed to add my printer with Samsung SPL-C filter which appeared in CUP's web interface but not on Printer Config UI. [Bug 776924] [NEW] Theming service crash and reverting to GTK classic theme. (VMware Fusion as Host)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gtk2-engines The theming service which used to be managed gnome-settings-daemon crashes, reverting to standard/classic/gray/ugly/squared GTK default theme, plus gnome-settings daemon is showed as running on System Monitor. Although the installation is not vanilla after Unity-2D install, it happens even on a fresh Natty vanilla install. Steps to Reproduce: Make use of VMware Fusion on a Mac system (if specific OSX 10.6.7 macbook unibody 5,1). Virtual Machine sattings are detailed in the attached VMX file. [Bug 516018] Re: cups 400 Bad Request for fully qualified host name
Also I think this is important to support HOST.local (avahi/bonjour/ZeroConf) type of name resolution. I have a home network in wich i can't manage the routers dns since it only relays a dns from the cloud and al machines are assigned via dhcp so no static ips. Avahi and Bonjour in Mac and Windows hosts have helped me to manage internal names and services on my lan, having a server with a dynamic ip is not ideal, but is the way It works better on the router side. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/516018 Title: cups 400 Bad Request for fully qualified host name -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
