There are no troubles - only solutions .. Next time i'll report the original logs. Well, Ubuntu is great. Since daily-live (lucid desktop amd64 01.04.2010) first boot-screen uses wrong resolution (attached picture). Error message are not shown during boot anymore (but they're still in log). When boot up sequence switches to the X display, the screen becomes corrupted. There are portions of the screen from the last time the system ran, but they are scattered across the screen. I can hear the Ubuntu startup sounds, so the system is coming up. (take a look at #542950). After Ubunut-desktop appeared i switched to nvidia driver. Installation reports error (take a look at attached jockey.log), but after a restart of gdm everything works fine. hm, very strange: added nouveau.nomodeset=0 to boot (well, i know, it's a wrong parameter) system responds during boot: nouveau: unknown parameter 'nomodeset' but system starts without corrupted screen and works fine.
