Re: [Bug 235347] Re: networking fails on resume from suspend
No, works fine now. I think the problem was with the upgrade process from Hardy to Ibex. Not sure what I did to solve, it's been so long--probably reinstalling ACPI and Network-Manager. Purged and reinstalled network-manager and network-manager-gnome (?). Now all is well, suspend works great with kernel -19. THANK YOU to Martin for correctly pegging this as a network-manager issue. Yes, -16 works fine--in fact, I'm using it as my main kernel! I edited grub/menu.lst to default to -16 since I can't get network joy from any kernel later than that. So, if it is a bug in network-manager, it has to do with how network- manager interacts with the various kernels--as I get good wired and wireless networking after suspend with kernel -16. [Bug 151162] drag n drop attachments is broken
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: thunderbird Dragging and dropping an attachment produces a draggable icon which, when released to the desktop, disappears. So, it looks like drag n drop is going to work... but it doesn't. Attachments must be saved in other ways (right-click and using open/save dialog box, etc.). Attachments should either not turn into draggable icons, or else drag 'n' drop attachments should actually work. [Bug 150777] Re: in gutsy, screen locks on lid close even when gconf option is turned off
Sorry, I meant "screen lock on suspend," "screen lock on blank," etc. in gconf-editor. [Bug 150777] in gutsy, screen locks on lid close even when gconf option is turned off

[Bug 130511] Re: Gusty updates broke my wireless connectivity
Same problem here--wireless on my Dell Latitude D600 was working great with my BCM4309 (via the firmware cutter) in Feisty--now broken in Gutsy when using the restricted driver manager's autoinstaller of BCM43xx- fwcutter and automatic firmware extractor. No wireless networks show up in network-manager. I upgraded from Feisty and do NOT want to do a fresh install. Ideas/solutions welcome--I'm clearly not the only one with this problem! P.S. when I slide a NetGear (atheros) PC card into the PC card slot, all wireless networks show up normally in network-manager, so this is definitely a problem with the BCM4309 card. -- Gusty updates broke my wireless connectivity https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/130511 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 49521] Re: Screen locks up black on laptop lid close.
"Do nothing" won't help, but "blank screen" will. Try it. (You might have to close and open your lid to get the backlight to come on, but at least it won't lock black permanently.) wonderfullyrich wrote: > I've got a Dell Laitude D420 Running Feisty and exhibits the same > problem. [Bug 103537] rosetta stone won't install via WINE in Feisty
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: wine I get a Java-related error and crash when I try to install Rosetta Stone for Windows via WINE. Instances of successful Rosetta Stone/WINE installs are common on the Web. Not sure if this is a WINE issue, a Feisty issue, or both. [Bug 67700] Doesn't scan for wireless networks
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-network iwlist shows there are wireless networks near me, but they don't show up in network-admin. [Bug 50501] Re: Screen freezes black and locks up randomly
Thanks for responding. The answer to your question is yes--after I changed my default video card from ATI to VESA, the problem went away. However, I don't consider that this closes the bug, because Ubuntu shouldn't misdetect a videocard in the first place. For the record, my video card is an ATI mobility radeon 7500. However, in spite of its name, this card clearly does NOT work with the ATI driver and should NOT be auto-installed by Dapper during installation from the live CD. VESA should be installed instead.
