[Bug 863154] Re: Wacom Bamboo One tablet random coordinate malfunctions
m-marti, is your mouse for some reason enabled as an extended device? If yes, disable it. You wont lose anything as mouse does not provide any extra info for extended devices. As far as I am aware from my testing with mmiicc, it only affects extended devices and a specific event deliver mechanism known as event history buffer that is provided by X. It's a known source of trouble. According to my tests with mmiicc 2.7 does not exhibit this problem because of this commit: http://git.gnome.org/browse/gimp/commit/?id=dbf844c012894166e312470f0d98560d5e426613 With this I disabled the history buffer use because there are plenty of cheap tablet drivers that get it permanently wrong and 2.7 has event fill that prevents even mice from drawing polygons when moved fast, so milking every single event out of the device is no longer essential. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/863154 Title: Wacom Bamboo One tablet random coordinate malfunctions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/863154/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 665391] Re: maverick kernel panic after NMI on Compal laptop
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Since updating to maverick I've been experiencing random crashes usually after few hours or so running. It starts with screen blinking black for a moment. after that there is a long period of high CPU usage with frozen screen image, sometimes with cursor still moving, sometimes not. If I wait long enough screen blanks and num lock and caps lock light start blinking, indicating a panic. the panic itself is not logged but each crash so far has been preceded by an unexpected NMI. Using the kernel left over from Lucid prevents the crash. I do use the nvidia binary driver. cat /var/log/kern.log | grep -A 10 -B 5 Uhh Oct 18 08:58:00 angelica kernel: [33545.093882] input: USB 2.0 Camera as /devices/pci:00/:00:1a.7/usb1/1-2/1-2:1.0/input/input14 Oct 18 20:05:29 angelica kernel: [73593.985167] usb 1-2: USB disconnect, address 14 Oct 18 20:05:44 angelica kernel: [73609.320082] usb 1-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 15 Oct 18 20:05:45 angelica kernel: [73609.504624] uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device USB 2.0 Camera (04f2:b018) Oct 18 20:05:45 angelica kernel: [73609.507445] input: USB 2.0 Camera as /devices/pci:00/:00:1a.7/usb1/1-2/1-2:1.0/input/input15 Oct 18 20:05:50 angelica kernel: [73614.880286] Uhhuh. [Bug 665391] [NEW] maverick kernel panic after NMI on Compal laptop
Public bug reported: Since updating to maverick I've been experiencing random crashes usually after few hours or so running. [Bug 459639] Re: X server starts randomly in failsafe when starting from cold boot
Probably none of these specifically. It's a timing issue so it depends on how fast the system is loaded from the drive. For me, faster drive or installing server software equally hid the bug. Faster drive probably because nvidia loads faster now and the server software because X was delayed a second or two. Looking at your changes, the update that made the issue appear probably made some start-up component faster, speculatively mountall looks interesting, but I haven't checked the change log. The next update updated at least one service, potentially making the startup again slightly slower. The triggering factors of this bug can range from hardware to installed packages to how fragmented your drive is and how much drive seeking for components happens during load. None of these are really the cause. The cause is that upstart optimized for fast start up is starting X before the underlying system is ready in some systems and under some circumstances. -- X server starts randomly in failsafe when starting from cold boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/459639 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 459639] Re: X server starts randomly in failsafe when starting from cold boot
Actually its neither kdm nor nvidia bug. Its an straight out ubuntu/upstart bug. Upstart starts KDM before the nvidia driver in the kernel is ready is ready and X fails. Perhaps a proper fix would be an upstart job that is installed with the binary driver and checks if nvidia is ready and delays X start until it is. -- X server starts randomly in failsafe when starting from cold boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/459639 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Just to note, that as soon I uninstalled the sever components(postgresql database sever in my case) I had needed temporarily the issue came back. More often than not for cold boots fail and from what I see from the logs KDM writes, X fails without any clear error messages after trying to load the nvidia driver. [Bug 160833] Re: Dolphin corrupts / forgets smb username and password
Its not losing the credentials. I had the same problem and dug through it. smb component in dolphin is making too many connections and as a result filling up the server side user session limit that is 10 for XP. Then it ignores the STATUS_REQUEST_NOT_ACCEPTED on session creation and gets access denied when trying to connect.
