[Bug 2066914] [NEW] tmux 3.4 stalls during active pane zoom
Public bug reported: Since upgrading to Ubuntu noble, I've noticed that the tmux server stalls when zooming the active pane (prefix + z). Using top -p ${tmux_server_pid} its easy to see that the server will sometimes consume as high as 60% CPU when servicing this zoom pane operation. Rebuilding tmux from upstream the current 3.4 tag doesn't seem to experience this issue: ``` ddelnano@dev-vm:~/code/tmux ((3.4)) $ git rev-parse HEAD 9ae69c3795ab5ef6b4d760f6398cd9281151f632 ``` I've collected flame graphs of the buggy upstream version and a self built 3.4 binary attached to this report. [Bug 1825842] Re: [vmware] Background goes white when using scaling (200%, 300% or 400%)
Issue is still in Ubuntu 19.10 with vmware workstation player 15.5. One workaround I found is to use gnome-tweaks to select the wallpaper (under Appearance), and select an Adjustment option of "Wallpaper". Any other adjustment option causes the white background. Works best with a tile-able background, or a very large image that would not automatically tile (like a 4k image). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1825842 Title: [vmware] Background goes white when using scaling (200%, 300% or 400%) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1825842/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 950843] Re: simple scan fails to scan. "unable to start scan" change scan ner gives no options
Hi guys, I have the same problem than John and Miles over different Epson Wifi Scanners or combis (printer + scanner). After searching a lot, many other Linux Distributions have the same problem in their latest versions with the scanner drivers well installed and the conection to the equipment working. Using the program what you want, the scanner starts (you can see the process on the scanner screen) to do his work and then all fails. The most worrisome situation is that anyone of this forums don't give any solution and it looks like a big problem. To nornmal users and institutional or educational ines, this type of problems are very important to select a good OS, and it's crazy that in 2019 we have problems to work propperly with a modern scan in Linux, no to mention that many manufacturers like Epson still do not give direct support... [Bug 1774583] Re: Resuming does not work with kernel 3.13.0-149-generic
I've got the same issue with a Shuttle based desktop. It used to suspend and resume quite happily, but after a recent update to 3.13.0-149 it hangs on resume. Hibernate still works. Unlike others, downgrading the kernel doesn't fix the problem (I tried -147 and -145), so maybe there's an interaction going on with something else which got upgraded? I don't actually know which version of the kernel it was running before the issue was introduced. It's not my machine and I don't keep that close an eye on it. While digging, I switched to a VT (Ctrl-Alt-F1) to see if it still did it while a console was active. Yes, it did, but in this case the screen dropped to a GPF. I took a photo of the screen which is attached. I'm not in a position to try significant kernel upgrades. The machine owner needs it stable and uses Virtual Box, so I don't want to mess it about too much. ** Attachment added: "Photo taken after resume. [Bug 1633368] Re: After update to 4.4.0-43 HDMI output and usb mouse stopped working
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1633267 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1633267 Hello I also had a problem with both primary and second monitor with update to 4.4.0-43-generic Ubuntu 16.04.1 Xenial LTS. Recovery mode also had - - - instead of letters. Bug was solved by login in upstart 4.4.0-42-generic. And weird, he had before installed linux-headers and all for the 4.4.0-43-generic, and after 3 restarts he installed without me deleting neither touching anything again linux-headers and all for the 4.4.0-43-generic as if it was not installed. Maybe first install did not told the computer it was already installed ? He still wants to update more things, like: linux-headers-generic linux-image-generic. I think problem is all those updates should have been done at once, and it is in more then 4 parts. As if it was a big upgrade. So first it had put the link to the name, then the programs must be installed in more then 4 times by login the 4.4.0-42-generic upstart mode. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1633368 Title: After update to 4.4.0-43 HDMI output and usb mouse stopped working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1633368/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I will try to do this, I have never tried testing a kernel before so I won't mess anything up if I do it wrong will I? [Bug 1296263] Re: gnome-power-manager may be related to black screen and auto-power-on noise and Xorg crash
Today black screen but could connect: touched all the echap F1-F12, everything, and CTRL+everything and Fn+everything and ALT+everything and Windows button+everything, then typed ENTER and I logged in from black screen into Precise !!! So I can send you more info, since, my black screen doesn't speak and since I just had it ! There you can analyse it and tell me why Ubuntu stopped? Right now my install is equal to my blog's with exterior intel Glasen driver for it to work. Was it Ubuntu or material ? http://memubuntu.wordpress.com/2014/04/05/intel-black-screen-old-laptop- version-2-precise/ apport-collect 1296263 ** Description changed: Hello, My HP Compaq Presario CQ70 a very old portable computer notebook have been having black screens some sessions after being used from Precise to Saucy. Yesterday I just had Precise being installed. But this morning black screen. And also a very weird part to explain. You might believe in the weird part or not but I say as it is since it occured already twice and I used pc twice today. lsb_release -c -d uname -s -r lspci | grep -i VGA Description: Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS Codename: precise Linux 3.11.0-18-generic 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07) sudo dpkg -s gnome-power-manager Package: gnome-power-manager Status: purge ok installed Priority: optional Section: gnome Installed-Size: 1584 Maintainer: Ubuntu Developers ubuntu-devel-disc...@lists.ubuntu.com Architecture: i386 Version: 3.4.0-0ubuntu1.1 etc. Last lost of Precise this morning: - Even thought I had tooken out big battery (material) some years ago from my pc, this morning he made some noise alone, without being on electricity power and without battery, not being other PC at home (I checked they were off), true noise when my PC is working, so I deduced my old PC had become photo-voltaïc like solar panels, it tryed to turn on alone with morning sun light. - Then when I put electricity on, it tryed alone to login Ubuntu with laptop closed. I heard Ubuntu welcome noise sound, so I opened laptop. I did not touch on/off button. Then what I saw was white mouse on black screen. Deduction: Xorg crashed. - Then when I pulled OFF button to shut him up, then re-start, he restarted on black screen in silence, except for the internal noise. No Ubuntu welcome noise. - Then when I took out electricity cable to restart it (since it thinks one method is the other one), it restarted (without the ON button) on the black screen in silence (except for usual internal noise). - Then I restarted it and I re-installed Precise from USB in blind because I have external monitor/screen/display so I had to memorize BIOS in a blind way, since it doesn't appears in external monitor. - More info: I had put xdiagnose at beginning, and none of the time he did the internal noise before black screen, he did put xdiagnose output on screen before BIOS question that I can't see. Before he did put just at start xdiagnose. Result: He only support a few sessions before going black screen. Conclusion: He mistakes ON / OFF / SLEEP / WORK Than I took some info. Even downloaded it, but couldn't put it on external USB. So I have it in my e-mail, all ancient logs of errors or not. And also posted some: Precise while not OK, and Precise in USB new. I'll post you later. So this morning, after Precise beeing installed. Noticed again, when came back to living room. Noice, but very very low and no battery and no electricity. If my living room was little more noisy, I wouldn't have noticed. PC is off, no electricity, no battery and yet, very very low 3 noise types: - the continuous noise - two times a noise at right (Enter and numbers side) - once a noise at left, the one when we got PC ON - no lights All almost not audible, very very low. Could be my memory neurones that memorized thoses noises or my PC had become photo-voltaïc ? PC is old so could also be material problems. So now for bug analysis, data you undersatand. Joined log.tar.gz so you can see errors. Only seen error that has to do with you, also present in this brand new Precise is: *-power UNCLAIMED description: OEM_Define1 product: OEM_Define4 vendor: OEM_Define2 physical id: 1 version: OEM_Define5 serial: OEM_Define2 capacity: 75mWh *** Answering Launchpad questions cat /proc/version_signature Ubuntu 3.11.0-18.32~precise1-generic 3.11.10.4 sudo lspci -vnvn 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Memory Controller Hub [8086:2a40] (rev 07) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:360b] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop-

[Bug 1296263] Re: gnome-power-manager may be related to black screen and auto-power-on noise and Xorg crash
Hello, yes I had put back battery that I had taken out 3years ago. But each time, from 10 last times, I turn computer on, 1st time it turns on: black screen, 2nd time I turn it on: it works but sometimes with /tmp error (The disk drive for /tmp is not ready). So perhaps my problem could be PC dying ? All I did till now is in my blog: intel ppa glasen + a lot of changing. http://memubuntu.wordpress.com/2014/04/01/intel-black-screen-old-laptop/ I forgot to install or xserver-xorg-video-intel-lts-quantal or xserver-xorg-video-intel from Glasen PPA. I thought installing the PPA was enough. And I'll uninstall xserver-xorg-video-intel-lts-saucy. I have power manager: gnome-power-manager 3.4.0-0ubuntu1.1 , t I'll install xserver-xorg-video-intel-lts-quantal although I think xserver-xorg-video-intel is more compatible, but Precise is definitely -lts. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1296263 Title: gnome-power-manager may be related to black screen and auto-power-on noise and Xorg crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1296263/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
