[Bug 1765946] Re: Solaar tray icon not visible

2020-08-14 Thread Delta-Z
Same here Ubuntu 20.04 / Budgie.

Initial "green gear" icon shows up fine. It's only one a device is
activated that it becomes an empty square.

Interestingly it worked fine for me in 18.10 / Gnome3

I have this problem as well.

I can print the pdf, and normal Adobe Reader can open and edit the
resulting document, so I'm fairly sure this is an oversight in evince.

[Bug 1008014] Re: Package is not installed with ubuntu desktop

2012-06-12 Thread Lord Delta
@Timo...its not invalid.

Its a bug if the package to install the unity ubuntu desktop fails to
produce software in a working state, because it has an invalid
dependency. The ONLY reason I would have originally uninstalled the
compiz-gnome would have been in-advertently, whilst my system was
failing to upgrade correctly. Thus, your logic is flawed, this is still
very much a bug. When and if this does happen, there shouldn't be a
dependency on something that doesn't actually provide what the software
needs to function correctly. If you don't think its a bug, what do you
call it? Gross package-dependency mismanagement? I'm saying that the kde
| gnome part shouldn't be a valid dep configuration.

I posted some comments on the original bug page Google took me to. I'm

Experiencing similar problems, believe it may be causing X.org to

sudo apt-get remove ubuntu-desktop, compiz-gnome

  'emacs -nw -Q'

The emacs screen loads. However, there is no input being sent to

It should be noted that this problem is packages specific,

[Bug 801180] Re: battery indicator is not displayed in oneiric

2011-08-14 Thread Lord Delta
I have an up to date install, I don't even have an indicator-battery
package available, though I have the gnome power manager. When running
via command line, I see similar output as some of the posters above
(some gibberish about not finding a file). Interestingly enough,
Battery-status works just fine ( http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/02
/battery-applet-status-ubuntu/ ), though now I'm having trouble getting
indicator applet to remove the power icon.

Occasionally I also get other images going missing, e.g. the wireless
icon.

Yay unity still being full of holes. ^^

I should clarify by up to date I do not mean Oneiric, isn't that in

[Bug 330298] Re: mdadm software raid breaks on intrepid-jaunty upgrade

2009-08-05 Thread Delta
I still have this problem - appeared after jaunty upgrade.

The machine with 3 disks in raid5 fails to assemble the array upon
startup. I have not found a solution to this problem (mdadm --examine
--scan --config=mdadm.conf /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf) and others do not
appear to work in my case.

The only solution that works is booting the new system with the old
2.6.27-14 kernel. This also drops to busybox in a few seconds. But with
this kernel it is possible to start ths system by reassambling the
arrays with mdadm -As;exit. This is not possbile with the kernel that
comes with jaunty (including the -14 interation).

My other computer with 2 drives and raid 0 and 1 arrays upgraded without
problems.

Also, as much as I understand my mdadm.conf files in the kernel image
appear to be correct - both on the new kernel in jaunty and the one in
2.6.27-14. Yet it does not start normally.

[Bug 332620] Re: Acer 8204 3945ABG WLAN does't work with 8.10

2009-03-14 Thread Delta-Mike
Problem fixed. I don't know how it got fixed though! I made a Bootable
USB flash drive with 8.10 and booted from the USB stick to see if I
could get Wireless working with a Live USB. Sure enough, the Live USB
had all the hardware working right off the bat. When I re-booted back
to the hard drive on the laptop, the Wireless began to work without any
configuration tinkering whatsoever! For whatever reason, booting off the
Live USB seemed to kick the wireless system into life, so when I re-
booted off the hard drive it was working right away. I don't know how
this is possible, but that's what happened.
