[Bug 1414706] [NEW] [20ALCTO1WW, Realtek ALC292, Black Mic, Left] No sound at all
Public bug reported: During this test, an error dialog was thrown, reading: The following mixer control(s) might be incorrectly set: Mic is at 0.0% Mic is muted Please try to fix that (e g by running alsamixer -D hw:PCH in a terminal) and see if that solves the problem. Would you like to continue troubleshooting anyway? However, the System Settings... - Sound UI shows the mic as not muted. When I tried running the alsamixer command, I saw mic and mic-boost were both showing 0; I cranked them up to 100, but it made no difference. I also tried re-running this command with the mic/mic-boost still set to 100 and it threw the same error. [Bug 41427] Re: slow keys can turn on surreptitiously cause confusion.
This happens to me dozens of times a day -- I often hold down the shift key while writing, as I prepare to type the first word of a sentence, with the rest of my fingers poised over the keyboard. Then i start typing and nothing comes out. I have to minimize several windows to find the You held down the shift key for 8 seconds dialog and close it. I'm using Feisty/Kubuntu. I don't *ever* want to use slowkeys, for any reason. There should be a way to just turn slowkeys off permanently without leaving *any* shortcuts to turn it off. I've tried to uninstall slowkeys with Synaptic, but apparently it's part of a larger package. This is the single biggest pain-point in my use of Linux. I've lost a TON of work by holding down the shift key, waiting for inspiration, being seized by it, typing joyously for a while, then noticng that the freaking keyboard as stopped working, finding the bloody slowkeys dialog, and nuking it, then trying to remember what it was I had planned on typing. Re: [Bug 72558] Re: Digikam in repo is lagging, compiling is hard
allee wrote: Cory, you need to supply more infos. If dpkg list any pkg (+ version) involved supply it to. It doesn't, but I'm game. What should I do to get you the information you need? Are you using edgy? Yes. Then libexiv2-10 from my repo is not needed. You have to remove showfoto pkgs and install digikam and digikamimageplugins from my repo. I think we're going in circles. When I tried to install digikam from your repo, it said Failed to completely install all dependencies (broken cache) I tried running sudo apt-get install -f but it just removed the half-installed beta and reset me. The error comes back when I try to reinstall. You suggested that I install libexiv2-0.10, but when I tried to do that, it said, Error: A later version is already installed. Works for me an another edgy user on IRC. But please note it's an unofficial repo . Don't blame (k)ubuntu about it. Well, yes, but that's the whole point of the bug report in the first place: installing this beta manually is hard. The version in the official Ubuntu repo is out-of-date and contains a critical, show-stopper bug (renaming a photo after importing it makes it vanish) that is fixed in the beta. Which means that potential digiKam users should have the option of installing the fixed (but very hard to manually install) beta, which is why it's a bug in Ubuntu that an official supported repo isn't carrying it. -- Cory Doctorow [EMAIL PROTECTED] latest novel: craphound.com/someone blog: boingboing.net vanity: craphound.com podcast: feeds.feedburner.com/doctorow_podcast second novel: craphound.com/est collection: craphound.com/place novel: craphound.com/down Join my mailing list and find out about upcoming books, stories, articles and appearances: http://www.ctyme.com/mailman/listinfo/doctorow -- Digikam in repo is lagging, compiling is hard https://launchpad.net/bugs/72558 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
