[Bug 769335] Re: Launcher tooltips sometimes don´t show

2011-05-27 Thread drew212
@Andrea Azzarone I have been trying to sift through the code to figure
out were this kind of thing is handled. I was hoping to get a mentor to
help work on this but haven't had the time. If you feel you can get this
done easily feel free to assign yourself.

Thank you for submitting this bug and helping to improve Ubuntu.
Sometimes Firefox profiles can become corrupt and/or extensions can

[Bug 705308] Re: Hi, ich brauch Eure Hilfe, mein Englisch ist unt aller Sau

2011-01-20 Thread drew212
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include
enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs
effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be
grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make

not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you
are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are
having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if
you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.

[Bug 597760] Re: all youtube movies give me an error -

2011-01-18 Thread drew212
If you want to watch youtube movies you can do that by installing the adobe
flashplugin.
You can do this by removing gnash: sudo apt-get remove gnash
and then: sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer
Although you will be installing non-free proprietary software. If this is
undesirable, we can request a backport of an updated version of gnash, but
there is no guarantee that the request will be granted, or that it will fix the
problem.

[Bug 688641] Re: crashed when oppened e mail

2011-01-16 Thread drew212
Hello, thanks for reporting this bug and helping to improve Ubuntu.
Unfortunately this version of Firefox is no longer supported for your release.
Could you please upgrade to 3.6.13 and open a new bug report. Also, if you get
a crash again could you please generate an apport crash report for this? A
crash report will help in resolving your problem.
You can enable apport for one instance like this in the terminal:
sudo service apport start force_start=1

I am marking this invalid as apport will open a new bug when the crash
is generated. Please include any relevant information from this report
in the new bug report. If you cannot generate a crash report, you can
reset the status of this one to new and we will try something else. Feel

[Bug 355571] Re: F11 key does not work to put firefox in full screen

2010-09-07 Thread drew212
Thank you for submitting this bug and helping to improve Ubuntu.
Sometimes Firefox profiles can become corrupt and/or extensions can
conflict. Could you please try this with a new profile and see if the
problem still exists? You do not need to delete your old profile to
test. If a new profile helps, you might want to try to disable all your
extensions and re-enable them one by one until you find the problematic
one.

You can test a new profile by starting profile manager with the following
command, but make sure all Firefox windows are closed first:
firefox -ProfileManager

To disable extensions, Tools Add-ons Find the extension
Highlight and click 'Disable' Restart Firefox

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu

reported bugs in a timely manner.
There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and
your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a
lot if you could test the current Ubuntu development version (10.10). If you
can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload
updated logs by running apport-collect 492379, and any other logs that are

You can read: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace for more information. To
start Firefox in gdb use firefox -g in the terminal instead of gdb
program 21 | tee ~/gdb-program.txt and continue from there. Pay
particular attention to step 4 as it will tell you how to continue when
it hangs instead of crashes.

Try this:
Go to View Toolbars Customize. Is there a section labeled Bookmarks

If there isn't: Scroll down until you can see text labeled bookmarks.

Could you please generate an apport crash report for this? A crash report will
help in resolving your problem.
You can enable apport for one instance like this in the terminal:

[Bug 625474] Re: Firefox: Downloading a file: Open with: Other... should display the Open With Other Applicationdialog

2010-08-27 Thread drew212
I also think it would be much easier for a new user if it displayed a
list of common applications that apply to the certain file type that
you're trying to open rather than a generic file browser. I'm marking
this as wishlist because it is more of a feature request than an actual
bug.

[Bug 619151] Re: BBC IPlayer no longer works after Firefox update to 3.6.8.

2010-08-20 Thread drew212
Sometimes Firefox profiles can become corrupt and/or extensions can
conflict. Could you please try this with a new profile and see if the
problem still exists? You do not need to delete your old profile to
test. If a new profile helps, you might want to try to disable all your
extensions and re-enable them one by one until you find the problematic
one.

You can test a new profile by starting profile manager with the following
command, but make sure all Firefox windows are closed first:
firefox -ProfileManager

To disable extensions, Tools Add-ons Find the extension
Highlight and click 'Disable' Restart Firefox

[Bug 607211] Re: firefox crashes with X_ShmCreatePixmap: BadImplementation

2010-07-20 Thread drew212
Thanks for reporting this bug and helping to improve Ubuntu. I'm not
sure how libflash-mozplugin got installed on your system, as it isn't
supported in lucid. Since you were able to fix this by installing a
supported flash player I'm marking it as invalid. Feel free to report
any other bugs you may find.

2010-07-18 Thread drew212
Thank you for submitting this bug and helping to improve Ubuntu. You did
a great job getting a backtrace, unfortunately you don't have any
debugging symbols installed. Could you please install the debug symbols
for firefox: 'Sudo apt-get install firefox-dbg' and then run the
backtrace as you did before. Thanks in advance!

the capital S in sudo.

[Bug 606526] Re: system testing locked up at dead pixel test

2010-07-17 Thread drew212
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This bug did not have the correct package associated with
it as you suggested in your last comment; so I have assigned the correct
package, checkbox.

For future reference: If the application doesn't have a Help Report a
Problem... menu then you can use ubuntu-bug [packagename] in the
terminal to open a bug report that lists the correct package.

** Package changed: firefox (Ubuntu) = checkbox (Ubuntu)

[Bug 606323] Re: Firefox crashes every now and again

2010-07-16 Thread drew212
Could you please generate an apport crash report for this? A crash report will
help in resolving your problem.
You can enable apport for one instance like this in the terminal:
sudo service apport start force_start=1

I am marking this invalid as apport will open a new bug when the crash
is generated. Please include any relevant information from this report
in the new bug report. If you cannot generate a crash report, you can
reset the status of this one to new and we will try something else. Feel
free to subscribe me to the new bug report so I can assist you further.
