[Bug 17878] Re: hard disk being accessed every 4 sec.
I had this strange behaviour too. On a MB (GA/nforce560) I used a Seagate 7200.11 (SATA) and a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.10. I noticed a HDD activity every 4-5 sec, which was very annoying. Because of the Firmware bug of the Harddisc I decided to replace the HDD with another one. I took a Seagate 7200.10 (IDE) and never noticed this problem again. - so the problem seems to be caused by something SATA-related (?) But it became more crazy: After flashing the firmware of the 7200.11 I put it into another PC (GA/nforce3-150) and also did a fresh install of 8.10. The problem did not occur on that system! So in my thinking the cause of this problem is: - either the firmware of the hdd (cache flush?) - the driver or some driver related software of the nforce560 sata controller I hope this can help you locating this effect. -- hard disk being accessed every 4 sec. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/17878 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 160763] Re: Acer Aspire 5720 hangs on second resume from suspend, i.e. suspends only once
Maxim, thank you for your effort in trying to find out the problem, as you reported in the other mailing list. It definitely looks like it's a BIOS bug, not a Linux one. Instead of fixing it with a BIOS upgrade (there were so many since the initial release), the Acer guys wrote a workaround in the Windows drivers so that only Windows users can freely suspend their machines. I think it's an unfair discrimination against non-Windows users. I agree with you in writing a complain to Acer support. I'll try in the next days to call their tech support to report the problem and get some info about a collective complain. It'd be nice to know if there's any 5720 without this bug... -- Acer Aspire 5720 hangs on second resume from suspend, i.e. suspends only once https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160763 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 211252] Re: Cannot receive files using bluetooth
Wow this bug is still alive and kicking. Well I have the same problem as most of you being. I'm using Nokia 6600 (Symbian) with ubuntu hardy (32 bit). My problems are: 1. Can see mounted phone on nautilus but can't see any object in it. 2. Can't send file to PC even though I can send file from PC to phone. Whenever I try to send a file to PC the phone complains with Unable to connect. My work around is to install gnome-bluetooth and downgrade bluez-utils but with this work around I still can't browse my phone. Can anyone tell me how to use the fixes mentioned above? [Bug 305203] [NEW] Uncorrelated volume wheel events
Public bug reported: When turning the volume wheel up or down in my Acer Aspire 5720, the corresponding keyboard events are random among keycode 114 and 115, with higher probability for keycode 115 no matter which direction I turn the wheel (i.e. the volume tends to go up). Also, press/release events are generated in groups of random sizes of up to 6-7 pairs of press/release at time, even when I turn the wheel very slowly. No, such a feature isn't even mentioned in the BIOS settings. Hello, I've successfully installed linux-image-2.6.25-1-generic, and run it in recovery mode (i.e. root shell, no X). [Bug 33212] Re: deleting files across file systems
Running Feisty: I have a similar setup as Warbo. I use different partitions for my data and mount them in some folders in the home directory. Everything works great for a long time (...since breezy I think) but some days ago I got this error! Lets call the partition with the error par1 and the other mounted partition par2: If I try to delete (or send to trash) an image on the broken partition (par1) I get the error: Not on the same file system But if I open the image with gThumb and press the del-key (in gThumb) it is gone. ...but not deleted and not moved to trash, I found the image on the root of par2 (the working partition) after. I didn' believe and tried it once more: same result. As in others reports deleting per console (or shift-del) works normal. [Bug 115017] Re: missing prism2 drivers
No, the prism54 drivers are neither in the 2.6.22-kernel package nor in the ubuntu-modules package. With the 2.6.20 kernel I use the modules lib/modules/2.6.20-15-generic/kernel/ubuntu/wireless/p54/prism54common.ko lib/modules/2.6.20-15-generic/kernel/ubuntu/wireless/p54/prism54pci.ko but I can't find them in the 2.6.22-kernel nor in the ubuntu-modules. -- missing prism2 drivers https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/115017 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 115017] Re: missing prism2 drivers
It seems the prism54 drivers are also missing (there where present in the 2.6.20-kernel packages). Is there a reason for not including them in the current kernel/ubuntu-modules packages? -- missing prism2 drivers https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/115017 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 98688] Re: Firefox hangs when closing a page with flash running
I think a temporary solution can be found in this bug page... https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104470 1. Run firefox and watch a flash movie (e.g. youtube) 2. Open a new firefox window and browse as usual -- Firefox hangs when closing a page with flash running https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/98688 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 114855] prism54 and other wlan drivers missing in kernel 2.6.22
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.22-2-generic Hi, after upgrading to the 2.6.22 kernel I noticed that the modules for my wlan adapter are missing (prism54pci,prism54common). A lot of other wlan modules included in the 2.6.20 kernel-packages are also missing. Enrico ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.22 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- prism54 and other wlan drivers missing in kernel 2.6.22 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/114855 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 104470] Re: firefox crashed -- libflashplayer.so
I seem to have fixed the hanging problem by using the older kernel instead of the one that comes with Feisty. In the boot menu, select kernel 2.6.15-27-386 instead of 2.6-20-15-386 and firefox will not hang while browsing pages with flash media (like YouTube). Now, does this mean the bug is with the latest kernel and not with firefox or the flash plugin? -- firefox crashed -- libflashplayer.so https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104470 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
