[Bug 1602888] Re: Dell Inspiron 7559 fans do not shut off once started, even when cool

2016-11-11 Thread filsd
@gnidorah done. :]

@peter-biely Your welcome. My fans also spin like crazy "when" they spin. My
CPU temp is hi because i'm on Brazil (38C avg).
But just for consideration, I only use the nvidia card with optimus and my
battery life is really good, like 3h to 4h good (only needing to lower the
brightness). And I work with game dev and heavy digital illustration!

I think it might be related to i7, but Dell also sells that here with
Ubuntu. Maybe they use a ISO a bit different for that?

Its open source anyway. :/

I imagined that Dell wound not "guarantee" that would work or give any

[Bug 1602888] Re: Dell Inspiron 7559 fans do not shut off once started, even when cool

2016-11-06 Thread filsd
Hi!

I have this Laptop (i5 model) and I bought it from Dell (Brazil) already with
Ubuntu (14.04) certified.
Using the Dell tools I can make an ISO of this version.

I have been using this version of Ubuntu for months now and it doesn't
have any problems. ANY. (I even updated the Nvidia drivers using a PPA,
it works!).

Are any of you interested in this ISO? I can upload it for you to
download (using wetransfer or something). It could help to find the real
issues.

[Bug 923800] [NEW] Calendar is missing some names of the weeks

2012-01-30 Thread filsd
Public bug reported:

Gnome calendar is missing some names of the weeks, in my case (i'm on
Brazil, using the brazilian Portuguese language): Tuesday and Saturday.

This bug appears both on Unity and Gnome Shell 3.2. But on Gnome shell on these
days the Shell wont load (Mouse moves but I have to do CRTL + ALT + BACKSPACE
to go back to login and choose Unity).
On the calendar on Unity, it says Label Empty on these days.
This affects the Evolution calendar too.

I think it has anything something to do with the translation to
Portuguese. But I'm not sure.

ProblemType: Bug

[Bug 923800] Re: Calendar is missing some names of the weeks

2012-01-30 Thread filsd
Well, I just tested it (changed everything in the system settings to English),
and it didn't have the bug when in English Locale.
BUT, when I changed back to Brazilian Portuguese it fixed the problem!!! =)
Checked with a friend that didn't have the bug and he installed the language
pack after the OS installation.

Now I think the bug might be on the Ubuntu installation it self. =)

I don't know if this is the same bug, but both on Gnome 3 and on Unity

label empty instead of the name of the month).

[Bug 840073] Re: Firefox doesn't see flash plugin, flash doesn't work

2011-10-23 Thread filsd
But the flashplugin-installer installs flash 32 bits! And I want the 64
bits one (32bits is buggy).

I think the issue here is that on the description of the package it says
flash plugin 10 but in reality is the version 11. Installing the real 64
bits one (with the description saying it is the 10) makes firefox think
that you have a old plugin. =(

[Bug 365514] Re: PSP preset doesn't work

2010-05-26 Thread filsd
I can try that later Daniel.

Just to note: Handbrake uses x264 as his main encoder and the PSP
profile uses it as well. That must be why it works on HandBrake. See the
release notes: http://handbrake.fr/ (as opposed to what they say, the
PSP profile works well, I use it).

You probably already saw this, but just to be sure here is a link to the
PSP manual:
http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psp/current/video/filetypes.html
There they say that MP4 Simple profile (ACC) works and H.264/MPEG-4
AVC Main Profile (CABAC) (AAC) and Baseline Profile (AAC) works to.

Thanks.

[Bug 365514] Re: PSP preset doesn't work

2010-05-20 Thread filsd
Hi Daniel,

I use HandBrake to make my encodings to PSP. The HandBrake profile
attached is working great and does not bug (about 10 encodingd made,
from various files). Maybe if you duplicate the settings you can solve
this. I'm asking because HandBrake doenst bake .srt subtitles into the
file, Arista does that nicely. =)

Can you look into it?

I have a fully updated PSP and can test this to help you out. =)

Thanks.

They occur in the Jaunty live cd without these updates.

[Bug 282197] [NEW] [intrepid] wacom doesn't have hotplug by default in Intrepid

2008-10-12 Thread filsd
Public bug reported:

After this bug 260675 was solved wacom doesn't have hotplug by default.
This is a know issue and its not enabled by default because it does not
detect all of the tablet, just the stylus. But like it was said in the
comments of the bug 260675 its better to have only the stylus working
out of the box than nothing. Especially in this case, where no user
would be hampered.

To make the wacom work just put the file 10-wacom.fdi in the following folder:
/usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/

+ After this bug 260675 was solved wacom doesn't have hotplug by default.
+ This is a know issue and its not enabled by default because it does not
+ detect all of the tablet, just the stylus. But like it was said in the
+ comments of the bug 260675 its better to have only the stylus working
+ out of the box than nothing. Especially in this case, where no user
+ would be hampered.

To make the wacom work just put the file 10-wacom.fdi in the following folder:
  /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/

[Bug 260675] Re: [intrepid] Wacom Xorg module is incompatible with the kernel module shipped in kernel packages.

2008-10-11 Thread filsd
I agree with Alexia. If does not bug anyone I prefer the wacom half-working out
of the box (as a matter of fact I do not use the eraser or mouse, just the
stylus).
Can this be made???
before the release?
