[Bug 1203426] Re: 14e4:4727 wifi looses connectivity
installed linux-image-3.9.0-030900rc8-generic as requested and had problems and lost wifi alltogether, after some trial and test I removed the image and went about reconnecting the wireless driver for the broadcom and blacklisted B43 in blacklist.conf and the wifi now workd but the on lamp for wifi power on doesn't light, Watched for several days and wifi is not failing so its fixed if that helps good. A workaround to this is to manually specify settings for an interface in /etc/network/interfaces, which will let NetworkManager ignore the interface. Re: [Bug 254529] Re: unable to print to cups, testprint ok
Arnaud Blouin wrote: Please, when you print a document, try to get the cupsys log: this is a file where CUPSYS writes information about what it is doing. Almost all printing problems can be diagnosed from the error log, so it is the first place to look to start solving problems. To be useful, you must change the logging level: 1.Select System - Administration - Printing in the main menu of your desktop. The printer setup tool system-config-printer will open. Select Server Settings in the list on the left. Then check the check box Save debugging information for troubleshooting and click Apply. 2. In /etc/cups/cupsd.conf, find the line LogLevel ...; change it to LogLevel debug; save. 3. 'sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys restart' 4. Try to print something. 5. Add /var/log/cups/error_log as an attachment to the bug report. Set to incomplete until we have the wanted log. ** Changed in: cupsys (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete Have resolved the problem by removing the printer from the server and reinstalling it and using the webpage:631 reinstalled the driver. had no problems since, so was a server (debian etch) issue not ubuntu although the symptoms pointed to the latter many thanks and apologies for not reporting the fix when done.
