[Bug 1746340] Re: Samsung SSD corruption (fsck needed)

2018-09-02 Thread hariprasad
Hello Lucas, thank you for response. Yes, badly setted kernel parameters
can cause very serious problems. Additionally, I can comfirm, that
problem is not bounded only on Samsung NVME SSD, but It occurs on Intel
SSD-6 series as well. It looks like, that problem is in ASPM SSD Driver
- kernel parameters. There are a few errors, which came in one time. The
easiest way, how to simulate initframfs error during startup/restart is
to install Thunderbird and download thousands emails from cloud e.q.
google mail to generate traffic on SSD. Than install and startup
Firefox, add plugins for video (Player) and stertup video. Firefox for
Linux (last version was something about 57-61) is unstable on Linux
(generally, not only Ubuntu), than Firefox begin crash, and issues -
"Would you like to restart and recover Firefox?". It streses the SSD and
after a few restores (about 10) probably begin crash Thunderbird. It is
the time for restart system. Probably - there will be issue, that it is
not possible to start Ubuntu and initframfs error occured.

[Bug 1746340] Re: Samsung SSD corruption (fsck needed)

2018-08-11 Thread hariprasad
Hello, my Ubuntu Linux was 8-9 months out of order v. 17.10, and later
18.04. I did many installations and tests, changed SSD M.2 four times
(recognized reclamation), changed the whole NUC7i7BNH (recognized
reclamation). Log Issue on Intel. Finally I installed Fedora 28. and
NVME M.2 SSD is in good condition and work properly. I used default LVM
partition format. Ubuntu during installation on VLN filed immediatelly
during installation, when updates were applied. The problem is bounded
specially with Ubuntu. I doesn't check, which driver use Fedora and
Ubuntu, Fedora kernel is '4.17.12-200.fc28.x86_64 #1 x86_64 GNU/Linux',
so I cannot distill if it should be in driver or is system settings. But
finally, i can say, that my reclamations were unauthorized. Sadly, in
that case, the easiest workaround for me is to use different Linux.

[Bug 1067951] Re: Firefox randomly loses window decoration in Gnome Classic (Compiz)

2015-05-09 Thread hariprasad
I can confirm, that bug still endures.

How to reproduce:

-- Open Firefox with common content as it was the last time (history is on to
remember previous opened tabs).
-- Minimize Firfox Window
-- Begin work with another programme, who is able call Firefox and open a new
tab. I.e. Eclipse, Netbeans etc...
-- In Netbeans create web based project with default Hello World .html file.
-- In Netbeans set default Web Browser on Firefox.
-- Right click on .html (.jsp etc) file - Run File to launch it to browser
-- try it a few times

Sometimes it will be Right, sometimes not. Sometimes Firefox not reacts
on input to Window, sometimes the Window is badly dispayed - it is not
on the top etc. My opinion is, that there is some problem in
multithreading (swithing context).

Confirmed for Ubuntu 14.04, Compiz. Workaroud is to restart Firefox. One
way how to loose Firefox window decoration and block keyborad is to
invoke open new tab from another application. I.e. invoke testing page
from NetBeans. It happens randomly, not always.

[Bug 1244087] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 Main Menu editor Problem

2014-03-21 Thread hariprasad
To move menu item from one submenu to another it is needed to know the name of
destination submenu. It is in property Categories, i.e.
Categories=Application;Development;Java;IDE. Desktop (.desktop suffix) files
are located on two places:
~/.local/share/applications locally in your home and /usr/share/applications
globally. Compare the both directories, find out appropriate files and
synchronize them. I think, that they should be the same. In my case both files
were identical, but in /usr/share/applications was attribute Hidden=true, so i
remove it to be both files identical.

The second case is, if the .desktop file is only in local menu. Check it
and add Categories property if needed. Remove Hidden property or set it
false. Check duplicities (many items has name alacarte-made-nn.desktop)
check them, rename them, remove duplicities!

There is really no way, how to manually move items from one menu to

[Bug 88142] Re: Problem with typing Czech characters with carons and Hindi characters in shifted line

2008-06-13 Thread hariprasad
I must appologize for delay, i forgotten, that this bug is still open.
In Ubuntu 7.10 this problem has been completely solved. For now i use
8.04 on the same HW (it means 64 bit version) and everything works
perfect.

Additionally in compare with Windows, if i want to often switch between
Czech, English, Hindi, etc. in Windows is that problem, that there is
long delay between switch, what doing the switching upleasant, sometimes
it is unreliable. In Ubuntu (Linux generally) the switch is without any
noticeable delays.

Howewer You in my opinion You can close it as solved.

Thank You very much.

[Bug 88142] Problem with typing Czech characters with carons and Hindi characters in shifted line

2007-02-26 Thread hariprasad
Public bug reported:

Hello, as described on http://forum.ubuntu.cz/viewtopic.php?pid=53661#p53661 i
have
2.6.15-28-amd64-generic #1 SMP PREEMPT x86_64 GNU/Linux and i have
problems with characters with carons, which are not pre-prepared on
keyboard.
On forum i wrote:
The key before backspace (coordinates 1, 13) is auxiliary key for typing
the characters in Czech (Slowak, Germany etc.) special letters with
caron, which are not explicitly on keyboard mapped. On Ubuntu Dapper
Drake x64 i cannot type this letters. For example Š is +S, Ť is +T, Ě is
+E etc. I must use Caracter Map, what is very tedious.

Between this time and today i found out workaround:
I switch on Caps Lock next only CL, then i press Shift then caron
(caron is placed before backspace in top line) i leave Shift and press
appropriate key. If i keep the Shift pressed, then i type small
letters with carron. Instance: Š, Č, Ď, š, č, ď.

Very special is letter ů, again, i am able to type big ů with CLŮ, but
not ShiftcaronU (there is again +U), as (may be) partially visible,
because sometimes the letter is not everywhen whole
visible.

I buy a new keyboard to use the one old for Hindi (i am learning Hindi
language).
But the new keyboard doing the same, i must use Character Map, or use
CL, so i proofed, that problem is not in keyboard.

For instance, there is complicated Czech sentence with many carons and
commas under letters: PCLShiftcaronŘÍLIShiftcaronŠ
ShiftcaronŽLUShiftcaronŤOUShiftcaronČKÝ K(press small ů,
CL is still switched on)ŮShiftcaronŇ ÚPShiftcaronĚL
ShiftcaronĎÁBELSKÉ ÓDY. As visible it is against the rules, spessing
Shift with switched on CL removes function CL and then there would
been comma, not carron, but it works fine.

The same problem is with Hindi, which using small, big letters (using Shift
key) for
typing completelly different characters (Hindi has no big-small
letters), for example ब (ba) and ShiftY, but correctly it should been
ब, भ (ba, bha), again i must type CLShiftभ.

This is the same problem and the same error and according my opinion,
this is a bug.

P. S. Please look on System-Preferences-Keyboard-Layout Options too.
There many strange things, nearly nothing works there properly.
