[Bug 1231271] Re: [Dell Latitude E6420] Kernel Crash
Bootable ISO of 12.10 also does not have the wl driver. I assume that the wireless driver was included in 13.04 for the first time by default. I may try downloading and compiling the latest driver from the broadcom site and run tainted to see if there is an issue with that driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1231271 Title: [Dell Latitude E6420] Kernel Crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1231271/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1231271] Re: [Dell Latitude E6420] Kernel Crash
Latest built wl driver (sta) from broadcom does not cause crash. This is a version issue of the wl driver that is included as the wl package. I followed the instructions in the compile guide and moved the existing wl.ko drivers to test. Checked that my compiled version was the running version and re-ran the original command that caused the kernel to crash. [Bug 1159232] Re: Running iwconfig crashes (freezes) MacBookAir3, 1 requiring hard reboot
I can confirm that I have the same issue and I can reproduce it on a Dell Latitude Laptop running Xubuntu 13.04. Mine occurs every time that I execute airmon-ng start (interface) on any wireless interface. So there definitely seems to be a correlation with the wireless drivers or interfaces. I get a kernel crash, but can partially recover by CTRL+ALT+F1 then switch back to X with ALT+F7. I have also tried with an external USB wireless card and had the same result. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1159232 Title: Running iwconfig crashes (freezes) MacBookAir3,1 requiring hard reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mactel-support/+bug/1159232/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
