2010-11-30 Thread "infogerance" (Rakotomandimby Mihamina)
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: abiword

Attached is a sample file.

Bug is against the Abiword package in Maverick (2.8.6).

How to reproduce the bug (dont close abiword between the steps):
- Open the sample file wiht abiword 2.8.6
- Preview it before printing
- Close the preview window
- Preview it before printing again: Formatting of the lists is messed up
- Save as
-- PDF file
- View the resulting PDF file: Formatting of the lists is messed up

To get the preview and PDF export OK, I have to cose abiword and reload the

[Bug 358054] Re: no block devices found after an upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04 on a soft RAID1 system

2009-05-23 Thread "infogerance" (Rakotomandimby Mihamina)
I have _one_ idea that could explain it's gone, but I dont assume
anything: when on an old working install, you install the 2.6.28 being
running the old kernel. This runs "initramfs" on the old curent one.
When trying to boot on the new one, it brakes.

Then, after booting with the workaround, and upgrading once your system,
the "initramfs" has been ran on the current new kernel, so everything
got OK.

I wont install a vanilla kernel on this box. ;-)

I confirm this bug.

I am using 2.6.28-11-generic on Jaunty.

I use a PackardBell Laptop with 2 HDD.

The workaround is OK, but I have to type it each boot.

Please advice.

[Bug 342246] [NEW] sub O_BINARY declaration while already exported by IO::File

2009-03-13 Thread "infogerance" (Rakotomandimby Mihamina)
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libdbd-xbase-perl

When using the xbase, I get this error:

Prototype mismatch: sub XBase::Base::O_BINARY () vs none at (eval 7)
line 1.

To solve it, I have to remove the BEGIN block on XBase/Base.pm:
BEGIN { local $^W = 0;
  if ($^O =~ /mswin/i) {
eval 'use Fcntl qw( O_BINARY )'
  } else {
eval ' sub O_BINARY { 0 } '

It was an indication given by Paul Gaborit on fr.comp.lang.perl, and I
just report.

[Bug 287172] Re: make-kpkg fails compiling on Ubuntu/GFS step

2008-10-24 Thread "infogerance" (Rakotomandimby Mihamina)
This is what I performed, from an Intrepid clean install:

# apt-get source linux-source
# apt-get build-dep linux-source
# cd /usr/src/
# tar xjf linux-source-2.6.27.tar.bz2
# cd linux-source-2.6.27
# cp /boot/config-2.6.27-7-generic .config
# make-kpkg clean;
# export CONCURRENCY_LEVEL=8
# fakeroot make-kpkg --initrd --append-to-version=-infogerance kernel-image
kernel-headers
[...]
== making target CONFIG-arch [new prereqs: stamp-arch-conf]==
== making conf.vars because of Makefile .config ==
Makefile:528: /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.27/arch/xen/Makefile: No such file
or directory
make[1]: *** No rule to make target
`/usr/src/linux-source-2.6.27/arch/xen/Makefile'.  Stop.
make: *** [conf.vars] Error 2

Then I go and remove the Virtualisation at the root section of the config, and
also the one in the "processors types and features" section options in the
kernel configuration, and then save the conf into ".config".
Then:

# make-kpkg clean;
# fakeroot make-kpkg --initrd --append-to-version=-infogerance kernel-image
kernel-headers

Well.. when i did it again, no GFS error...

[Bug 287172] [NEW] make-kpkg fails compiling on Ubuntu/GFS step

2008-10-21 Thread "infogerance" (Rakotomandimby Mihamina)
Public bug reported:

I had to recomplie a kernel, by changing one line in the sis190.c file.

I am not used with the git way, I'd rather "apt-get linux-source" and
"fakeroot make-kpkg" my kernel compilation.

The compilation first failed on some Xen parts, then I removed
paravirtualisation from the configuration. Then I enountered some
MODSTOP mismatches about GFS. They are in the Ubuntu contribution of the
source and I removed them (I dont use GFS). Then the compilation went
on.

So, the current linux source package (2.6.27) is broken and wont
compile. May be, if I tried with the GIT one, it would have been better.
But I had no time to learn using GIT just for changing one line in a .c
file.

[Bug 249138] [NEW] Different fonts when using big screen

2008-07-16 Thread "infogerance" (Rakotomandimby Mihamina)
Public bug reported:

Hi all,

My system:
- Xubuntu 8.04.1 (up to date)
- 19" monitor, 1600x1200 resolution

The bug:
As you can see in the attached file, Firefox and Thunar have the same fontsize
and Gimp and Oo too.
But they are different.

Oo is installed with GTK support (openoffice.org-gtk package)

I did not try with another environment (my bandwith is too much low).

What information are required to help the resolution of the bug?

In fact, one of my main problems is I cannot setup my screen resolution to
1600x1200, which is the resolution my screen can go up to.
There is no modelines in the xorg.conf file that would allow such a resolution.
May be the screen has not been properly probed? but why?

- hand removing -rf /etc/X11
- installing xubuntu-desktop (my distro) and its deps + gdm + xserver-* and so
on.

[Bug 211726] Re: losetup fails when using the 'file:/', preventing the DomU from being created

2008-07-01 Thread "infogerance" (Rakotomandimby Mihamina)
So Could we please clarify a couple of things:
- Is the current Xen3.2 (the one in the repos) patched and working with the
"tap:aio" tip?
- Is there a working Xen3.2 on Ubuntu Hardy? (somewhere in a private repo)?
- What of thos patches should be OK, which of them should be applied,... any
documentation?

The goal is to have XP or Vista running in one or more domUs. More
generally, using HVM.

Is that comment reliable? :
