Re: [Bug 1560202] Re: [LENOVO 80LM] suspend/resume failure
Hi, sorry for the delay, this is a friend's laptop. The failure to suspend was there in 4.5.0-040500-generic package, but it is fixed in 4.6.0-040600rc1-generic. however, a kernel bug with a similar trace as the bug in kernel package 4.4.0-16-generic (see below). All tested versions suffer from flickering in the screen that appears at random intervals. The flickering disappears for a while in version 4.6.0 after a suspend/resume cycle. [Bug 1515278] Re: [SRU] rabbit queues should expire when unused
** Description changed: + [Description] + RabbitMQ supports queue-level TTLs as described here: https://www.rabbitmq.com/ttl.html#queue-ttl This should be used when declaring queues in order to clean up queues that are orphaned for various reasons. This is an important complement to auto_delete queues. Queues marked auto_delete are only deleted if a consumer existed at some point, and then disconnected, resulting in zero consumers. + [Impact] + Consider the following scenario: a client declares a queue (auto_delete) - and binds it to a fanout exchange, but before the client can consume + and binds it to a fan out exchange, but before the client can consume from the queue, it dies. Because there was never (and will never be) a consumer of this queue, the auto_delete logic does not fire. The queue will live forever, and will collect a copy of every message that is sent to the bound fanout exchange. Given enough published messages to the exchange, the queue will eventually consume all available memory on the broker. This is bad and we should avoid it by setting a reasonable TTL. + + [Test Case] + + * Deploy a new cinder service unit + * Create a volume + * Destroy the new cinder service unit. + * List the current active queues: + + rabbitmqctl -p openstack list_queues messages consumers name + + 811 0 q-agent-notifier-security_group update_fanout_c3c4f4d4fc774322938357952ab6d252 + 3352 0 cinder-volume_fanout_49a14d5511dc4c8c935904eb299a06a8 + 3352 0 cinder-volume_fanout_634a3e584c064a788676fb29fbf7db23 + 3352 0 cinder-volume_fanout_ada4f2368cb74d7389998d0adbd15f88 + 3352 0 cinder-volume_fanout_e896e25b029c4cbd97037909c34803db + + Those queues with 0 consumers will grow and remain there forever. + + After applying the patch, those queues are removed from the exchange after + 10 minutes. + + + [Regression Potential] + + * Not identified. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1515278 Title: [SRU] rabbit queues should expire when unused To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oslo.messaging/+bug/1515278/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1552985] [NEW] [Dell Inspiron 14 3000 Series] System hangs on poweroff
Public bug reported: Xubuntu 14.04.4 LTS Linux 3.13.0-79-generic #123-Ubuntu SMP Fri Feb 19 14:27:58 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux When shutting down the system, it gets stuck on the Xubuntu splash screen. I have to press the power button for a while to have it shut down. This is a dual boot system: Windows 10 and Xubuntu 14.04. I updated BIOS version to A10 a couple of days ago. It hanged when trying to shut down from both Windows and Xubuntu. After installing the firmware update from http://www.dell.com/support/article/mx/es/mxbsdt1/SLN300281/EN, the computer shuts down correctly from Windows, but still gets stuck when trying to shut down from Xubuntu, no matter if using the "Shutdown" button or running "shutdown -h now" or "poweroff" from a terminal. I found a similar bug here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1341925?comments=all, but the solution mentioned there did not work for me, also, I don't have any problems when rebooting the computer, just when trying to shut down. [Bug 1504665] Re: Evolution fails to show IMAP folder "Inbox". It only shows the bogus empty folder "INBOX" (all caps)
@Sebastien Bacher (seb128) Do you think this update would fit the SRU criteria? The criterion that comes closest to matching is: Bugs which do not fit under above categories, but (1) have an obviously safe patch and (2) affect an application rather than critical infrastructure packages (like X.org or the kernel). [Bug 1504665] Re: Evolution fails to show Imap folder "Inbox". It only shows the unexisting grayed-out empty folder "INBOX" (all caps)
I have worked around the bug by using another email client to subscribe to Inbox. Then Evolution started working correctly. Please see this thread: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/evolution-list/2015-October/msg00015.html sigurgeirg is another user that faced this bug, and I have successfully copied his/her solution. Ideally, Ubuntu developers would check if upstream Evolution has solved this bug and would backport the solution to Ubuntu 15.10 (and possibly 14.04 and 12.04, if applicable). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1504665 Title: Evolution fails to show Imap folder "Inbox".
