[Bug 276445] Re: Madwifi (atheros) driver malfunction induces a system freeze
I'm also having this problem after installing Intrepid. I downgraded to Hardy for a week and had no problems. Now I'm back on Intrepid and I'm experiencing freezing 2 to 3 times daily when running torrents. I have a Netgear pci wireless adapter using the 5xxx series Atheros 802.11 driver. Also installed backports with no luck. Getting the same errors of wifi0: rx FIFO overrun; resetting. This is definitely a major bug that from my googling looks to have been going on for almost a year now. Don't understand why it wouldn't get fixed ASAP as its the only option for internet for a lot of people. I'm gonna stop bittorrent before I go to sleep and see if it's frozen by morning. -- Madwifi (atheros) driver malfunction induces a system freeze https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/276445 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 292751] Re: Random freezes completely lockup system in Intrepid, inspiron 6000
Same problem here with 8.10 64 on my self built computer running Core 2 3.0GHz with 4GB ram and a 256MB nvidia 8600GT. I don't get the caps lock light issue since I'm running a desktop. I thought it might be a hardware issue but I installed Mint 5 64 and it ran great. Reinstalled 8.10 64 and its freezing again randomly. Freezes when I'm not at home so when I get home I have to hard restart and my monitor is in standby. Will post logs when I get home although they never seem to show any errors. -- Random freezes completely lockup system in Intrepid, inspiron 6000 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292751 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
