Thanks Bruno, I'll try to describe the issue more clearly, 1. I did a clean install of Ubuntu 9.1. 2. Immediately I had an issue with bluetooth. 3. The BT icon is greyed out 4. When I mouse over the BT icon a pop up box indicates Bluetooth disabled. 5. When I right click the icon Bluetooth:on - is greyed out Turn Bluetooth off - is black Preferences - is black 6. Opening preferences Top left states Bluetooth is disabled There is a button Turn bluetooth on 7. When turn bluetooth on button is clicked, the button greys out but does not perform the function. 8. The preferences box remains with the greyed out button until the x box is clicked. The whole box closes. /Bluetooth does not turn on. /9. Intermittently, the BT icon is black when the computer restarts, unfortunately pairing does not occur. 10. My system can find my phone, another computer in my house etc but my phone the other computer cannot find my ubuntu system. Even though the system BT is set up to transmit all the time. I hope this is sufficient info Thanks Tina Lively Bruno Girin wrote: Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. [Bug 483138] [NEW] bluetooth doesn't work in Karmic
Public bug reported: I did a clean 9.10 install. I have gnome-bluetooth 2.28.1-0ubuntu2 and my system is exhibiting the following behaviour When I mouse over the icon (which is greyed out) it shows bluetooth disabled. When I right click the icon, I only have the choice to turn bluetooth off. When I open preferences I have the option to start bluetooth. Nothing I try turns it on. I reported a bug at gnome but was told Ubuntu is shipping old versions of gnome-bluetooth, with non-upstream patches. Take it up with them. How do I fix this please? ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- bluetooth doesn't work in Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/483138 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 401039] Re: Add support for TouchPack family touchscreens (Clevo TN120 series tablets / ASUS eeeTOP and other devices)
My computer recognizes clicks on the touch screen, but no mouse movement. Also when I run the calibrate program I get a message saying that I don't have a compatible device. Re: [Bug 431094] Re: after security update firefox attempted to save dll instead of opening survey page
after the restart. I had been working on the survey, decided to take a break and restart FF with the intent of returning later. When I returned to the survey later and clicked the next arrow, the pop-up window asking if I wanted to download or open the dll opened. I haven't been able to complete the survey. Re: [Bug 389068] Re: Sound stopped working after critical updates
I tried booting to the old kernel too. It didn't work! When I dug into it more I found that the update had turned off all my sound controls except playback, removed my ubuntu sounds and changed my default hardware for sound. Once I fixed all of this back to the way it was, all was well. I have sound again! joshmatheugene wrote: I installed the recommended updates this morning in Xubuntu 9.04. One change I noticed was a new kernel 2.6.28-13 Generic, replacing 2.6.28-11 Generic which I had been using. When I restarted the computer there was no sound.
