[Bug 991998] Re: Kindle Fire does not mount when connected to USB

2012-05-14 Thread lively
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.4-rc5-precise/ hung on my
system at boot.
Had to roll back to 3.2 kernel and remove the 3.4 kernel via synaptic manager.
On reboot to 3.2, kindle mounted as expected - not sure what was happening but
appears to be fixed now.

[Bug 407875] Re: Kindle 2 HAL support

2012-04-30 Thread lively
I have a Kindle Fire which is not recognised in new distro at all. USB
connection is good for charging only. The Fire was connecting to my
laptop without issues in 11.04 11.10. My regular Kindle is connecting
as expected and is now automatically opening media software which id did
not before. This is a good improvement.

[Bug 584314] [NEW] Installation of Bluez/Bluesoleil inactivates Network Manager

2010-05-22 Thread lively
Public bug reported:

I recently upgraded to Lucid.
As in Karmic, the bluetooth manager functioned intermittently so I tried
un-installing the bluetooth stack an bluetooth manager.
I restarted my system, all is working as it should. WiFi internet access
working well etc.
I re-installed the Bluez and the gnome bluetooth manager, restarted the
computer - no WiFi but I can access the net via cable.
I un-installed Bluez, restarted the system and the WiFi worked.
I also tried installing Bluesoleil with the same result.
I would like to be able to connecd to my phone/mouse via Bluetooth.
You input will be gratefully appreciated!

Re: [Bug 483138] Re: bluetooth doesn't work in Karmic

2009-11-16 Thread lively
Thanks Bruno,
I'll try to describe the issue more clearly,

1. I did a clean install of Ubuntu 9.1.
2. Immediately I had an issue with bluetooth.
3. The BT icon is greyed out
4. When I mouse over the BT icon a pop up box indicates Bluetooth
disabled.
5. When I right click the icon
   Bluetooth:on - is greyed out
Turn Bluetooth off - is black
   Preferences - is black
6. Opening preferences
Top left states Bluetooth is disabled
There is a button Turn bluetooth on
7. When turn bluetooth on button is clicked, the button greys out
but does not perform the function.
8. The preferences box remains with the greyed out button until the x
box is clicked. The whole box closes. /Bluetooth does not turn on.
/9. Intermittently, the BT icon is black when the computer restarts,
unfortunately pairing does not occur.
10. My system can find my phone, another computer in my house etc but
my phone the other computer cannot find my ubuntu system. Even though
the system BT is set up to transmit all the time.

I hope this is sufficient info
Thanks
Tina Lively

didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How

if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
 http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

 At a minimum, we need:
 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
 problem,
 2. the behavior you expected, and
 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

For example, on my machine I left- or right-click on the Bluetooth icon,
select Turn On Bluetooth, this enables bluetooth and it works
perfectly. At what point does it fail to work in your case?

after the restart.
I had been working on the survey, decided to take a break and restart FF

When I returned to the survey later and clicked the next arrow, the
pop-up window asking if I wanted to download or open the dll opened.
I haven't been able to complete the survey.

Re: [Bug 389068] Re: Sound stopped working after critical updates

I tried booting to the old kernel too.
It didn't work!
When I dug into it more I found that the update had turned off all my
sound controls except playback, removed my ubuntu sounds and changed
my default hardware for sound.
Once I fixed all of this back to the way it was, all was well.
I have sound again!
