[Bug 147757] Re: uvcvideo module prevents system from suspending or hibernating
Tim - sad to hear that it doesn't meet the SRU criteria for Hardy, this does seem to affect many users with embedded webcams on their laptops. WRT the next release, what's the process? This is a regression in the uvcvideo driver. -- uvcvideo module prevents system from suspending or hibernating https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147757 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 147757] Re: uvcvideo module prevents system from suspending or hibernating
April 2007 discussion of merging almost-UVC-Ricoh-webcam support into uvcvideo. [Bug 147757] Re: uvcvideo module prevents system from suspending or hibernating
Confirmed with Hardy on a Sony VAIO VGN-TZ26GN, running Hardy (lum 2.6.24-16.23). Blacklisting or rmmod'ing uvcvideo works. On this hw, uvcvideo does not actually drive the webcam, so I have to agree with Bryan, the uvcvideo driver is overstating its abilities ;-) A manually compiled and installed R5u870 does drive the webcam OTOH. This seems to affect Supend for most VAIOs, so it'd be great to see it fixed for the wider public. -- uvcvideo module prevents system from suspending or hibernating https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147757 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 139403] Re: network-manager should stop managing any interface configured in /etc/network/interfaces
Hi Alexander - I am seeing problems with network-manager / network- manager-gnome that seem related to this. At least the bugs that seem to describe it are marked as dups of this one ;-) The symptom I see is that network-manager is *not* managing my wired network, when it should. At the office I have both a wired LAN, and a wifi signal. Network manager is choosing the wifi signal and not allowing me to revert to the wired LAN. This symptom is similar to what is reported under #126494 . This is with current gutsy witn network- manager 0.6.5-0ubuntu14 and network-manager-gnome 0.6.5-0ubuntu9 . I _can_ get the networking infrastructure to use the LAN, saying `sudo ifdown eth1` but then NM thinks we have no network, and doesn't let me use the VPNs I have configured. So this is quite an awkward regression. Does the statement that network manager should stop to manage _any_ interface that is configured in /etc/network/interfaces mean that for things to work well I have to remove eth0 from /etc/network/interfaces? How about lo? -- network-manager should stop managing any interface configured in /etc/network/interfaces https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139403 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 107317] Re: nm-applet doesn't show wired connection and connects only to wireless
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 105964 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/105964 I am also seeing this problem with network-manager 0.6.5-0ubuntu13 on gutsy. When at the office, I have both wired LAN (tg3 driver) and wifi (ipw3945) both with DHCP. The wifi signal is encrypted with WPA and NM has the passphrase in the keychain. Behaviour I am seeing: - Looking at ifconfig output, I can see NetworkManager connects eth0 (wired LAN) first, and a few seconds later eth1 is also connected - nm-applet icon shows the wifi strength - nm-applet does not list wired network - if I disable the wifi, nm-applet claims no network even though ifconfig can see eth0 working correctly, and the network works ok With an earlier gutsy, - it would only attempt to connect to the wifi signal if I unplugged the wired LAN. - if I disabled wifi, it would say wired network -- nm-applet doesn't show wired connection and connects only to wireless https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107317 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 132090] Evolution cannot migrate user data to new machine
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution This is a serious limitation in upstream Evolution - when migrating my homedir from a laptop to another, or using a shared homedir over the network on different workstations. This seems to be caused by Evolution's use of gconf for storage. To repro: - as root, create users user_a and user_b - login as user_a, open evo, create a profile, add some calendar entries, addressbook entries, configure an email server, fetch some emails - logout - as root, copy ~user_a/.evolution to ~user_b/.evolution - as root, chown -R user_b.user_b ~user_b/.evolution - login as user_b - open evolution = Expected: pop/imap settings copied over, calendar entries, etc. There is a hackish procedure reported here http://marc.info/?l=evolutionm=110880893342173w=2 For bonus points, make user_a and user_b on separate computers with different endian-ness (ppc?). [Bug 20317] Re: Presentation mode key on HP laptop should start OOo Impress
Confirmed here on an HP/Compaq 6710b - (i) key used to open gnome help on Edgy, is dead on Gutsty (as of today) - presentation/projector key does nothing, but as I use xrandr to run various dual-head modes (on, off, mirrored, ext VGA on the left, ext VGA on the right) I think the *best* use of this key is to rotate the xrandr modes. [Bug 119371] Re: Gutsy Gibbon - Poor Video - Intel 965GM
Wanted to confirm: on an HP/Compaq 6710b I am seeing the same problem with fuzzy graphics. Editing the source and rebuilding the package has resolved the problem for me as well. -- Gutsy Gibbon - Poor Video - Intel 965GM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119371 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
