RE: [Bug 411542] Re: [upstream] OpenOffice.org 3.1 Impress Very Slow due to AA

2010-11-04 Thread orosen

In general it works better, however oddly enough, the larger the size of the
text box i try to drag, the larger the slow down i experience.

For example, i opened a new text box with the text Hello..
If i drag the small text box, it works OK.
If i expand the size of the text box (without adding text, just pulling the
edges), the dragging process becomes much, much slower.
When the text box size is about the size of the presentation sheet, the slow
down is really lagged.

Ori

Is this still occurring on Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat with
 OpenOffice 3.2.1-7ubuntu1 and Mesa 7.9?

Some examples of how it is slow:

  * Moving text boxes around is laggy.

I'm using ubuntu 10.10, all updated, on the same HW as before.

Just tested it on Lucid with OOo from lucid-prosed, and it is working
quite responsive and much faster than bevor. My version of OOo:
 OpenOffice.org 3.2.1, OOO320m19 (Build:9505), ooo-build 3.2.1.4, Ubuntu

[Bug 559489] Re: After upgrade to 10.04 Beta 2 visual effects don't work at all

2010-04-09 Thread orosen
I can confirm bug, similar thing happend to me.

I have a dv7 HP Pavilion laptop with nvidia geforce 9600 GT, intel core duo
P7450, 4 GB DDR2 memory, 64 bit (i think).
After upgrading from beta 1 to beta 2, i restarted and noticed that my custom
compiz-config settings were disbaled, and now 'visual effects' is set to 'none'
special effects.

Trying to change this opens a new window that searches for a graphic
driver (even though i'm using nvidia 'recent'). after 30 seconds the
screen flickers and i'm asked if i want to keep the new settings or not.
Whatever i choose, the 'choose to keep settings' window freezes and i'm
stuck with 'visual effects' on 'none'.

I had no problem with my graphics card or compiz-config/'visual effects'
on lucid beta 1, or on ubuntu 9.10 for that matter.

[Bug 552422] [NEW] hebrew file names aren't displayed correctly in Rhythmbox

2010-03-31 Thread orosen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Hebrew file names are displayed as gibberish in Rhythmbox, although they
are displayed correctly in Nautilus.

You can see in the attached screenshot that english files are displayed
correctly, and 3 marked hebrew files are not.
Not sure if this happened in earlier versions of Rhythmbox or not, pretty new
to Ubuntu.

[Bug 545910] [NEW] OpenOffice Presentation works very slow when moving or changing size of boxes

2010-03-24 Thread orosen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I just opened a clean presentation to checkout the new features of OpenOffice,
and i noticed that moving or changing the size of text boxes work very slowly.
I have a strong HP laptop, but when i try to grab a text box it doesn't move
smoothly, rather lagging and then jumping to where i dragged it.
Didn't notice any other slow-downs in OO presentation (menu's work smoothly),
or any other slow-down in ubuntu 10.04 at all.
