[Bug 990765] Re: Save button always greyed out when creating openvpn connection

2013-12-26 Thread rasos
I can confirm that the plugin network-manager-openvpn does not
automagically import the certificates and thus rejects to save the
settings.

Instead, you need to pull at least the ca into a .crt file as described
in #33 and select it separately e.g. to use login / password
authentication.

[Bug 990388] Re: acces denied samba printer shares after upgrade precise

2012-10-12 Thread rasos
Fix as described in askubuntu #7 worked for me. I copy it here for
reference with some adaptions, credits go to RobDavenport.

== Set up printer shared on a sambe network with authentication ==

Choose Add new printer in Printing, click open 'Network Printers',
select 'Windows Printer via SAMBA'

Click 'Browse' to browse for printer (it prompts for authentication
to access Windows server with printer)

or enter 'smb://sambadomain/servername/printername' e.g.
smb://uclv/printers.mycompany.at/a4-e105

Select 'Set authentication details now'

Enter details as 'domain\username' and password
(if you click 'verify' now it will say printer is not accessible, but click
Forward anyway.)

Select driver

Print test page

Just to be clear: I always could print from Ubuntu 11.10, but not from 12.04
Desktop to printers served by a Windows server.
If I rename a printer, I get again the authentication error. The above set up
worked.

[Bug 552003] Re: No codec for mpegts

2012-10-05 Thread rasos
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 327872 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/327872

Same issue here, I can not edit a Mythbuntu file with PiTiVi.
Well, the video is fine, and VLC can play it, if you simply ignore the teletext
decoder plugin search.
Couldn't we have a quick fix to ignore seraching for the teletext decoder
plugin - I guess teletext is mostly irrelevant when playing or editing videos.
bug #327872 seems to be much more generic and maybe we do not wait that long.

Finally I did a fresh re-install of 10.04 on a new partition, linking the home

Unfortunately part of the the 8.04 have been put to bin, so I can not do any

I suggest to close this issue, as nobody else confirmed it.

[Bug 596373] Re: nForce error on ASUS board disables nouveau graphics fo NVIDIA

2010-08-15 Thread rasos
nvidia driver problem solved: it did not have enough memory.

I always got
Failed to initialize the NVIDIA graphics device PCI:2:0:0. with falling back
to low resolution, no matter which xorg.conf file I used.

vmalloc assigned only 100 mb by default, after updating to kernel
2.6.32-24.

QUICK FIX:
adding vmalloc=192M at the kernel start line

sudo nano /etc/default/grub
add line
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=acpi_enforce_resources=lax vmalloc=192M
and run
sudo update-grub

This solved all my nvidia problems I had when updating lucid lynx!

[Bug 354633] Re: [ASUS M3N78-VM with onboard GeForce 8200] suspend/resume failure [non-free: nvidia]

2010-08-15 Thread rasos
Fix in #29 worked for me as well.

This is my complete kernel launch patch in /etc/default/grub for an ASUS
M3N78-VM hardware running Mythbuntu 10.04:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=acpi_enforce_resources=lax vmalloc=192M pci=nomsi
usbcore.autosuspend=-1

acpi_enforce_resources=lax removes an annoying Error probing SMB2 error,
seems specific for this board
vmalloc=192M reserves more memory for the drivers, otherways only 100MB are
reserved, which is not enough for the nvidia nor for the nouveau graphics driver
pci=nomsi usbcore.autosuspend=-1 fixes a suspend/wakeup problem, where the
board has lost its SATA drives at wakeup

[Bug 596373] Re: nForce error on ASUS board disables nouveau graphics fo NVIDIA

2010-06-20 Thread rasos
The problem has been also reported elsewhere, however it was considered a minor
issue. It was also said that the problem was solved in kernel 2.6.32-19.28, but
this does not seem to be true.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/440470/comments/66
I tried the workaround as well, adding acpi_enforce_resources=lax as a linux
kernel parameter (via grub2), which only suppresses the message.
Still the same boot delay and still no working nouveau.

[Bug 596373] [NEW] nForce error on ASUS board disables nouveau graphics fo NVIDIA

2010-06-19 Thread rasos
Public bug reported:

With an Error probing SMB2 the nouveau nvidia current does not work on ASUS
M3N78-VM with a 2.6.32-22 kernel. It had worked with ubuntu 9.10.
At boot we get:
nForce2_smbus : :00:01.1 Error probing SMB2
Even without KMS and using a traditional xorg.conf for nvidia, the nvidia
driver setting tool does not work.

[Bug 575296] Re: Ubuntu boot delay - nForce error

2010-06-19 Thread rasos
@ sanctimon and Joshua Roberts: Yes, deactivating the KMS (fast graphics driver
switch in kernel) does not solve any problem reported here. Even without KMS
and using a traditional xorg.conf for nvidia, the nvidia driver setting tool
remains saying:
You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X
configuration file (just run `nvidia-xconfig` as root), and restart the X
server. Which I tried dozens of times without success.

The problem remains: With an Error probing SMB2 the nouveau nvidia
current does not work on ASUS M3N78-VM with a 2.6.32-22 kernel. It had
worked with ubuntu 9.10.

[Bug 561738] Re: nForce2_smbus. Error probing SMB2. Sometimes boot crash

2010-06-13 Thread rasos
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 443113 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/443113

Same situation here on motherboard ASUS M3N78-VM with Mythbuntu 10.04 (incl all
updates).
Kernel message at startup: nForce2_smbus :00:01.1: Error probing SMB2.

Is tihs a reason, that Nvidia nouveau does not work either, various Xorg.confs
tested.
Always get a: Failed to initialize the NVIDIA gaphics device

Xorg.1.log in VESA / failsafe mode: Failed to initialize GLX extension
(Compatible NVIDIA X driver not found)

Attaching Xorg.0.log

Same situation here on motherboard ASUS M3N78-VM with Mythbuntu 10.04 kernel
2.6.32-22-generic. dmesg says at boot:

[Bug 449023] Re: LNB configuration window does not appear under diseqc settings

2009-12-25 Thread rasos
I confirm this behaviour with very latest mythtv upgrade, when trying
choose LNB:

Pressing enter, which would be following standard mythtv style, gets
me stuck at (Unconnected). Only if you click with the (unvisible)
mouse, then pressed enter, you are able to pick LNB etc.

** Changed in: mythtv (Ubuntu)
   Status: Incomplete = Confirmed

2009-12-20 Thread rasos
Affects me as well. May be caused by a power failure during update.
How can I resume the update of the kernel?
I attach some log files from /var/log/dist-upgrade
