I can confirm that the plugin network-manager-openvpn does not automagically import the certificates and thus rejects to save the settings. Select driver Print test page Just to be clear: I always could print from Ubuntu 11.10, but not from 12.04 Desktop to printers served by a Windows server. If I rename a printer, I get again the authentication error. Finally I did a fresh re-install of 10.04 on a new partition, linking the home directory with a symbolic link. Unfortunately part of the the 8.04 have been put to bin, so I can not do any further testing. nvidia driver problem solved: it did not have enough memory. I always got Failed to initialize the NVIDIA graphics device PCI:2:0:0. with falling back to low resolution, no matter which xorg.conf file I used. vmalloc assigned only 100 mb by default, after updating to kernel 2.6.32-24. The problem has been also reported elsewhere, however it was considered a minor issue. @ sanctimon and Joshua Roberts: Yes, deactivating the KMS (fast graphics driver switch in kernel) does not solve any problem reported here. Even without KMS and using a traditional xorg.conf for nvidia, the nvidia driver setting tool remains saying: You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run `nvidia-xconfig` as root), and restart the X server. Which I tried dozens of times without success. The problem remains: With an Error probing SMB2 the nouveau nvidia current does not work on ASUS M3N78-VM with a 2.6.32-22 kernel. I confirm this behaviour with very latest mythtv upgrade, when trying choose LNB: Pressing enter, which would be following standard mythtv style, gets me stuck at (Unconnected).
