Still occurs too often when dragging files to copy them eg. from desktop to a directory in nautilus (at least once in sftp-connection) that whole system freezes. Restarting X by pressing Ctrl+Backspace required. What information you need? I have Ubuntu Studio with latest updates. I've had these problems all the time since installing Hardy beta. See also bug 235053. This may be ssh/ftp/sftp -bug in nautilus, but im not sure about that. [Bug 216406] [NEW] Whole system freezes often / Hardy beta
Public bug reported: This happens usually very soon after log-in, having started Firefox 3 beta 5 and Thunderbird. System doesn't respond ctrl+alt+f1 of ctrl+alt+backspace. Only thing that helps is boot with alt+sysrq+RSEIUB. I have had this problem since I installed Hardy two weeks ago. No such problem with Gutsy. My screen also loses signal occasionally - restarting x by ctrl+alt+backspace solves that. In the beginning i also saw Out of sync message on screen, but that doesn't show anymore - screen just goes off. I have ATI drivers installed via Envy, but i had these problems before i installed them.
