I just wanted to share some screen shots of what I did on my DELL D505 and now the mouse does NOT disappear anymore. http://picasaweb.google.com/razorspells/DELLD505BiosA09 My setup is: - Dell D505 / Bios A09 - 64MB shared video memory - 768MB RAM - Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Note: On the Bios setting UMA Size I changed it from 1MB to 8MB and the result was the following: a. boot splash page is now on 1024x768 b. mouse still visible coming back from hibernation, suspend and console. I have no special settings on the xorg.conf file just the normal detection setup. Hi Adriaan, The bios page is at page 3 under UMA section. My default was 1MB and I changed it to 8MB and after rebooting I had no more problem with the mouse disappearing. I also noticed on my end that the Ubuntu loading page on startup has a higher resolution look now than it was before. Hope this info helps. I also have the same problem my mouse pointer disappears when I come back from hibernation. Mouse pointer also disappears when I come back from terminal mode. The only way I can track the location of the invisible mouse pointer is enable the Locate mouse pointer feature on System/Preference/Mouse and I just keep pressing the CTRL button Or just reboot my system to bring back the mouse pointer.
