[Bug 607560] Re: jbd2 writing block every 5 - 10 seconds, preventing disk spin-down and making noise
I basically did the same as John ^ - but I used Ramlog (http://www.tremende.com/ramlog/index.htm) - it basically mounts your /var/log as ramdisk and synchronizes the contents when you shut down / start your computer with /var/log.hdd. Playing around with "iotop -oPa" I was able to find some more apps which continuously wrote to my harddisk. This page also helped me a lot: http://info4admins.com/tips- to-spindown-your-hard-disk-in-debian-or-ubuntu/ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/607560 Title: jbd2 writing block every 5 - 10 seconds, preventing disk spin-down and making noise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/607560/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 692005] Re: libkdecore.so.5.5.0 is broken (?)
This problem took me hours to troubleshoot. I also thought that the .kde folder was the one which prevented me from logging in. Renamed it. But without success. This one eventually helped me - deleting the kde-cache for my user in /var/tmp as suggested here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=846216 (last post) After that I could access my profile again without problems. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kde4libs in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/692005 Title: libkdecore.so.5.5.0 is broken (?) -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
