[Bug 1799679] Re: Nvidia driver causes Xorg to use 100% CPU and huge lag when dragging OpenGL app windows
There is already a separate report, but it is marked as a duplicate of this issue. [Bug 962958] Re: Touchpad in laptops gets clicked all the time randomly when typing
@19: Decent workaround. That -t option really needs to be something the user can toggle through mouse settings, though, and not hardcoded. I hate it when my cursor is flying around the screen as I type. Especially with the increasing amount of apps (and even websites) that seem to just beg for a hover to activate something or the other, it really is a pain (for me). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/962958 Title: Touchpad in laptops gets clicked all the time randomly when typing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/962958/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 385344] Re: Netbooks- Cheese video recording is laggy at higher video resolutions
I am having the same issue, on a 4x AMD Phenom(tm) 9550 (5867MB RAM) desktop with a ATI Radeon HD 4550. I think the issue may have sprung up somewhere between the karmic -> maverick, since I'd recorded some pretty sweet vids back on karmic (sorry, only realized the problem now, when I had some new vids to record). hawthornso23's comment is interesting because I am using a PS3 eye camera, a USB device with an in-built mic, but also have a separate mic that I generally use. However I use ALSA, not Pulse (does bad things to my setup) -- does anyone have any tips on how to disable the PS3 mic? On a separate note, GTK UVC Viewer works great (except weird interface) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/385344 Title: Netbooks- Cheese video recording is laggy at higher video resolutions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 346028] Re: [ATI driver specific] Ubuntu Jaunty hangs after usplash with fglrx 8.600 or 8.6002
Ok, was able to fix it. I believe what Martin wrote a couple of posts above is correct, but only for cards that are no longer supported. To find out if your card is supported, go to the ATI site (http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html) and try to find a driver for your card. If the driver offered is the 9.4 version, then the proprietary driver should work for your card. However, after upgrading to Jaunty I was experiencing the same problem described in this issue. To cut a long story short, it turns out that my xorg.conf (working fine with the proprietary driver on Intrepid) was no good for this new version. Everything works ok now, after regenerating xorg.conf with the command below, and rebooting. /usr/bin/aticonfig -initial -- [ATI driver specific] Ubuntu Jaunty hangs after usplash with fglrx 8.600 or 8.6002 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346028 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 125947] Re: Screen blanks after ten minutes when watching video in Mplayer with XGL and Compiz Fusion turned on
that's strange - are you sure you used sudo? perhaps cat is not allowed in your sudoers list for you? can you try editing the file with something else - like vi or emacs? -- Screen blanks after ten minutes when watching video in Mplayer with XGL and Compiz Fusion turned on https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/125947 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 125947] Re: Screen blanks after ten minutes when watching video in Mplayer with XGL and Compiz Fusion turned on
Hi - I had posted that original hack vijinho is referring to. It doesn't *disable* gnome-screensaver. Here's what is basically done: 1) Move the gnome-screensaver program to gnome-screensaver-actual 2) Re-write gnome-screensaver as a script that does some necessary settings and passes some necessary options on to gnome-screensaver-actual. 3) Kill any existing gnome-screensaver processes, and run gnome-screensaver-actual. The target effect is essentially what one would expect under normal conditions - i.e. the screen doesn't blank after 10 minutes or so, and the gnome-screensaver runs as per the settings you specify (e.g. in the Gnome Screensaver Preferences). The more lengthy original post can be found here, if you wish to use it as a basis for a how-to: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=584406&p=3651954 -- Screen blanks after ten minutes when watching video in Mplayer with XGL and Compiz Fusion turned on https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/125947 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 125947] Re: Screen blanks after ten minutes when watching video in Mplayer with XGL and Compiz Fusion turned on
I had the same problem, and in addition, the issue that my gnome- screensaver settings were not being honored (or at least the appearance of it).
