[Bug 491770] [NEW] compiz cube rotate mouse pointer lost
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz Occasionally when rotating the cube the display will freeze momentarily mid-rotation. When things kick back in, my mouse pointer has vanished. Nothing can be clicked and most keyboard shortcuts don't work either, but strangely I can still rotate the cube if I 'aim' the non-visible mouse pointer at an empty area of the desktop. Possibly related to this is I get the same sort of system stutter when updating any settings in the compiz settings manager, sometimes with the same loss of pointer. Difficult to track what's happening as a reset is the only way to get interactivity back. Console hotkeys (CTRL-ALT-F1) still work, but switching to a terminal results in graphic corruption. Switching back (CTRL-ALT-F7) after this makes the mouse pointer re-appear, but it is still non-interactive. [Bug 383199] [NEW] Strange zooming when changing workspace using unfold cube
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz With compiz on Kubuntu 9.04... ATI official driver 9.5 Compiz: 1:0.8.2-0ubuntu8 Everything is working fine, except for the 'unfold cube' feature of the desktop cube. Using CTRL-ALT left and right to scroll through the workspaces (after the default CTRL-ALT down to initiate) introduces a strange effect whereupon all the workspaces 'zoom away' in the 3d space then zoom back as the new workspace centres (hope that makes sense, too tricky to make a screen grab), any actual windows stay in place, only the desktops themselves zoom away. This only happens for me with open windows, doing unfold cube with nothing open behaves as expected. Aside from the cosmetic oddity, the actual functionality is not affected. [Bug 368507] [NEW] Playlist disappears when track changes for amarok running in notification area.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: amarok 1. Start a playlist on amarok. 2. Minimise amarok to notification area. 3. [Bug 362318] Re: Editing calendar events to recur forever corrupts the calendar the event is tied to
Similar problem here, editing a recurring event, then choosing to update all instances immediately crashes evolution, with subsequent evolution launches freezing whenever the calendar is accessed - deleting ~/.evolution/calendar seems the only way i can unfreeze it at the moment. Seems to also happen if I set up a recurring event and try and add additional alarm notifications to it. -- Editing calendar events to recur forever corrupts the calendar the event is tied to https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362318 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 353114] Re: gnome-gnuchess spawns separate process for each new game - processes do not terminate normally
Hi Pedro Yes I thought the extra process was normal but in my case, these additional processes hang around, and each time I do Game-New a new process starts but any previous processes are still running, see attached process list after starting 3 new games, the highlighted process is the starting one. Starting Chess and immediately quitting without starting a game works as expected. Starting Chess, playing a single game then quitting works but leaves the gnome-gnuchess process running. Playing more than one game, resulting in 3 or more gnome-gnuchess processes hangs upon quitting. These occur whether closing through the app menu or through the window control. As mentioned in my initial post I'd tweaked a few settings prior to noticing this, so I tried undoing some of the changes, settings CONCURRENCY in /etc/init.d/rc from 'shell' back to 'none'. After this the behaviour changed, with the processes all hanging around as before but quitting now correctly shuts them all down, so this setting seems to be having an effect. Not sure why or how, hopefully I'm not leading you on a phantom bug chase because of my over-tinkering! ** Attachment added: screenshot1.png http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24759450/screenshot1.png -- gnome-gnuchess spawns separate process for each new game - processes do not terminate normally https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/353114 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 353114] [NEW] gnome-gnuchess spawns separate process for each new game - processes do not terminate normally
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-games Ubuntu 8.10, gnome-games 1:2.24.1.1-0ubuntu1 Running Applications-Games-Chess Each time a new game is started from the interface gnome-gnuchess spawns a separate process, over the course of several games these processes build up and none of them terminate normally, necessitating the minor inconvenience of a killall. I recently configured prelink and readahead as well as setting CONCURRENCY=shell in /etc/init.d/rc for faster boot, not sure if any of these are causing the issue, but I only noticed the extra processes after the changes, but as there is no visible impact of the extra processes outside of the process list the problem may have been occurring for some time.
