[Bug 1901724] Re: Systemd user environment generator is not executable.
I have seen this issue across three different Ubuntu releases now, latest being 22.04. After each upgrade, SSH logins (and git repo access) using my GPG hardware token stop working. The workaround specified in the descriptions works. I have been doing that after each Ubuntu upgrade. The lack of executable permission originated in Debian and was quickly fixed. The fix didn't happen in Ubuntu and should be straight forward to apply. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1901724 Title: Systemd user environment generator is not executable. [Bug 1881860] Re: Adds buster-backports to /etc/apt/sources.list... which breaks a Ubuntu system
A patch for the problem has been merged to upstream: https://salsa.debian.org/freedombox- team/freedombox/-/merge_requests/1824 . Please consider applying this patch and uploading the latest version of FreedomBox into Ubuntu. If it make it any easier for you, I can request our release manager (James) to make an emergency release 20.10.1 with this patch in it. We will also be redoing the approach for backports differently in upcoming releases. See: https://salsa.debian.org/freedombox- team/freedombox/-/issues/1855 Off topic: We, of the FreedomBox team, would love to see FreedomBox work well in Ubuntu. We can make this happen by: - Uploading FreedomBox regularly to Ubuntu (we have a two week release cycle) perhaps with the help of an Ubuntu maintainer. - Update our test pipelines to run our functional test suite regularly on Ubuntu. - Plan for Ubuntu LTS releases in addition to Debian stable releases, if we can. If someone from Ubuntu who can help us to make this happen, please get in touch. ** Bug watch added: salsa.debian.org/freedombox-team/freedombox/-/issues #1855 https://salsa.debian.org/freedombox-team/freedombox/-/issues/1855 ** Patch added: "Patch to fix the problem for Ubuntu and other derivatives" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plinth/+bug/1881860/+attachment/5380241/+files/0001-upgrades-Don-t-enable-backports-on-Debian-derivative.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1881860 Title: Adds buster-backports to /etc/apt/sources.list... which breaks a Ubuntu system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plinth/+bug/1881860/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1003842] Re: dnsmasq sometimes fails to resolve private names in networks with non-equivalent nameservers
another solution is to resolve 192.168.0.1 code it as server=/sample.com/192.168.0.1 which would send all dns lookups for sample.com to 192.168.0.1. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1003842 Title: dnsmasq sometimes fails to resolve private names in networks with non- equivalent nameservers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dnsmasq/+bug/1003842/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1003842] Re: dnsmasq sometimes fails to resolve private names in networks with non-equivalent nameservers
The solution that can be proposed is that we can search in non sequential order. if the first server fails then it should continue until it gets matched to the other nameserver. Like, if the request needs to resolve private address then ,it first searches non sequentiall order and so it asks 8.8.8.8 nameserver initially. but in the first hit, it can resolve only public addresses. So now it contacts the other nameserver 192.168.0.1, at this time it can clearly resolve the public and private addresses.

Re: [Bug 1621803] Re: package python3-scipy 0.17.0-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
After upgradation to ubuntu 16.04, I have added lmfit package by using Synaptic. This has installed scipy also. In Ubyntu 16.04, Python 3.5.2 was already installed as a default. Hence I removed lmfit ans scipy using Synaptic. This resolved my error. Dr. Sunil S. Patil Associate Professor Department of Physics Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Aurangabad. [Bug 1181836] Re: This is not really an mpich version of mpb-mpi.
I have found that mpi communication is faster with mpich2 (as compared to open mpi) in a couple of systems I have worked with (for example the HP Proliant DL980). But this varies from architecture to architecture, so it will be nice to have both versions (i.e. open-mpi and mpich2). If this is an issue, I can just build the mpich2 version of mpb-mpi on my own (when I need an mpich2 version). In any case, it will be good to clearly state that the current mpb-mpi in the repo is an open-mpi version and NOT an mpich version i.e. fix the "parallel (mpich) version" label. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181836 Title: This is not really an mpich version of mpb-mpi. [Bug 1181836] [NEW] This is not really an mpich version of mpb-mpi.
Public bug reported: 1) My Ubuntu release is Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS. 2) The version of the mpb-mpi package I am using is 1.4.2-17 0. 3) When installing mpb-mpi which is described as "parallel (mpich) version" in http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/science/mpb-mpi, I expect mpich dependencies to be installed. 4) Instead it installs dependencies for open mpi (including the open mpi version of mpirun etc). So I get an mpb-mpi that is linked to libopenmpi1.3 instead of libmpich2-3. Maybe there should be two versions of mpb-mpi in the repo: i.e. (i) mpb-mpi linked with libopenmpi1.3, and (ii) mpb-mpi linked with libmpich2-3. ** Affects: mpb (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: package-description -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181836 Title: This is not really an mpich version of mpb-mpi. [Bug 1036038] [NEW] Mouse with the PS/2 connector stop responding while using Ubuntu 12.04
Public bug reported: While using Ubuntu 12.04 OS, the mouse with PS/2 connector stops responding and i have to unplug the mouse from the computer and it works fine for some uncertain time after reconnecting it. This issue occurs most of the times while using Ubuntu. So its an inconvenience for the user. I am a QA tester by profession so its my job to report problems in software that i am using. To reproduce this issue just use any mouse with PS/2 connector and use it for a day or two. One more thing, the issue is more visible while opening or closing any application or folder. My computer has 1 gb RAM and intel dual core processor. The mouse works fine with no interruption on Microsift windows, so there is no issue with the mouse (i guess). I'm pretty sure that the window has opened fullscreen on a workspace that I cannot currently see. This has been my experience with earlier versions of Remmina on Ubuntu 11.10. I press Super + S to see all of my workspaces. I find the fullscreen Windows 7 desktop and click on it to drag it back to where I want it. However, after a click but before I can drag it, the window jumps to another workspace. I click there to drag it to my preferred workspace. It complies. Now that it's on my preferred workspace, I double click on the workspace to zoom into it for use. I can click and interact on the Windows 7 desktop now, but things are about to get worse. As I type, I notice that the letters I am typing are being understood on the Windows 7 desktop as "Windows +" the letter that I typed. So, if I type "d," then the desktop clears because the Windows 7 machine things that I typed "Windows + d." At this point, I can't use the desktop at all. I had previously read, here: https://github.com/FreeRDP/Remmina/issues/7 that if I press the Super key outside of the window, it will disable the Super / Windows key stickiness. So, I click away from the Windows 7 window and press the Super key. I see the Unity Dash and click away from that. Now, I click on the Windows 7 desktop, hoping that I can properly use it. However, with one click, the desktop goes AWOL to another workspace. I now have to track it down again. I press Super + S to find it. With one click it jumps to another workspace (again!), but it remains at this last one. I zoom in, by double clicking on the workspace, and prepare to use the Windows 7 machine. However, the Super key solution was not effective, it's still stuck "on." [Bug 973731] [NEW] mbox import causes segmentation fault
Public bug reported: I've been importing some emails from Thunderbird to Evolution. I have the mbox file from Thunderbird, but it's caused several segmentation faults. At first I believed that this was happening because of the size of the file (~2.5GB), so I began cutting it up into smaller chunks. I eventually realized that, since some of the chunks would import correctly, regardless of size, that the problem was something else. I'm still not sure what's causing the Segmentation Fault, but this single email cannot be imported into Evolution. I'm attaching the mbox file for this email (with some information redacted). I'm certain that there were other emails that caused this problem too, but I have not isolated them yet. 1) Description:Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10 2) evolution: Installed: 3.2.2-0ubuntu0.1 Candidate: 3.2.2-0ubuntu0.1 Version table: *** 3.2.2-0ubuntu0.1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-updates/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3.2.0-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main amd64 Packages 3) What I expected: emails to be imported 4) What happened instead: evolution crashed with the message "Segmentation fault (core dumped)" thanks! [Bug 954671] Re: package linux-image-3.2.0-18-generic-pae 3.2.0-18.29 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 17
Linux 3.2.0-18 had been installed in my system, some days before. But the system hangs while booting through it. So I changed the order of kernel using Grub Customizer and taken the old kernel (3.2.0-17) as default. I have tried the recovery mode of the new kernel.
