[Bug 1443037] [NEW] --action1 doesn't work

2015-04-12 Thread thorwil
Public bug reported:

Specifying a command for --action or from --action2 to --action9 works
fine; the command is triggered by the relevant key (0, 2 ... 9).
--action1 is the one exception.

So with
feh --action2 'echo %f' .
Hitting 2 (numblock 2 only if Num is on) will cause the relative path of the
current file to be printed, but with
feh --action1 'echo %f' .
nothing happens when pressing 1.

[Bug 1112061] Re: unity forgets focus-follows-mouse setting across update and reboot

This never happened in 12.04 and seems pretty random per logout/login in

settings or at the very least custom keyboard shortcuts are lost, too.

[Bug 863154] Re: Wacom Bamboo One tablet random coordinate malfunctions

2011-11-19 Thread thorwil
Re #73: the bug, or at least the underlying problem is not GIMP-
specific. While GIMP will react with drawing a straight line to the edge
of the canvas, at least some Krita beta builds crashed due to out-of-
range coordinates.

Serial Wacom Intuos 2 here, so the report title and Affects is not
accurate.

This makes successful use of any (?) tablet impossible and turns current
Ubuntu into a non-option for everyone relying on working with one. I
think this suggests a high importance.

[Bug 591664] [NEW] Package shouldn't pull in qjackctl and python-twisted

2010-06-09 Thread thorwil
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ardour

Marking the ardour package in Synaptic leads to the marking of qjackctl
and python-twisted (plus related packages).

I do see some justification for qjackctl, but it is not necessary and
pulls in some Qt stuff.

The python-twisted family has no place here at all. Apparently there is
some session exchange tool in the source tree that virtually nobody
uses, that likely even doesn't work and that is not shipped with builds
from ardour.org. The rest of Ardour doesn't even use Python.

[Bug 215341] Re: Add some visual feedback when hover mouse over menubar

2010-05-03 Thread thorwil
Bug 340203 - [patch] Support "prelight state" in menu bars and notebooks. (with
patch files):
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340203

Buttons, icons, check boxes, radio buttons, scrollbars, sliders ... all have
prelight. Entries are an exception (shouldn't be), but there you see a change
of the mouse cursor. It's simply inconsistent to not have prelight on menus
(and tabs).

With a unified title-menu-bar, where you can drag to move the window on
every area that is not a window button or menu, it would be good to make
it clear if the pointer is in the menu area before a click!

[Bug 178586] Bad profiles for Sound Juicer

2007-12-25 Thread thorwil
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sound-juicer

The "Voice, lossless" profile is misleading, because a sample-rate of
22050 Hz does mean a loss from CD quality and I don't think it's clear
that Voice would mean lower quality.

There's a lack of a CD Quality WAV profile for avoiding any conversion
at the cost of disc space. WAV is way more portable than ogg and flacc.

On my first Gutsy installation, I had this bug appearing once in a while
since some time. On another fresh installation, the first time I saw it
was right after I enabled remembering running applications in the

So far I thought the only problem with that setting and Compiz would be
Compit putting all windows on the first workspace the next time you log
in. But now I have to wonder if this the cause for the gnome-settings-
daemon startup problem? Although this wouldn't answer why it happens
randomly.

after removing "splash" (and also "quiet" while I was at it), things
work now.
