[Bug 293832] Re: printer prints page at wrong position, page cut

2019-01-09 Thread unfa
Oh wait - I spoke too soon.

It fixes the problem in Manjaro 18.0.2, but not in Linux Mint 18.3.

[Bug 293832] Re: printer prints page at wrong position, page cut

2019-01-09 Thread unfa
If I select "Force Ratestization" in "PDF Options" in Okular, the print
is fine.

Unfortunately this setting is reset with every print.

Now if I could force this system-wide - it'd fix the problem.

[Bug 293832] Re: printer prints page at wrong position, page cut

2019-01-09 Thread unfa
I have the same problem with a HP DeskJet 3700 printer.

I've tried Linux Mint 18.3 and Manjaro 18.0.2.

I had no success, until I tried one thing:

In LibreOffice 6.1 I forced printer to use PostScript instead of PDF
output - and the print was finally good!

Now my question is - how can I fore this system-wide? I haven't seen
such an option in any printer configuration tools or on the CUPS web UI.

The problem is clearly with the PDF output. PostScript seems to work
fine.

[Bug 1185719] [NEW] (v. 2.10.24) Manual partitioning mode displays no GUI elements making it impossible to proceed

2013-05-30 Thread unfa
Public bug reported:

I encoutered this problem running KX Studio 12.04.1 Live-DVD
(http://kxstudio.sourceforge.net/Downloads).
I tried to install the system do hard disk, but selecting Manual mode in
Disk setup stage makes the user interface cease to exist.

I first tried this with default version of Ubiquity delivered with KX
Studio, then I upgraded the LiveCD to version 2.10.24 and the problem
persists. I was unable to downgrade, as maybe it woudn't be present in
some older versions.

I tried reboting the system and it didn't help.

[Bug 661182] [NEW] package nvidia-current 260.19.06-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2010-10-15 Thread unfa
Public bug reported:

I freshly downloaded Ubuntu desktop 10.10 (beta?) and installed it to my
USB key from another Ubuntu.

I launched the new 10.10 from USB key in test (live) mode for the
first time, and I wanted to install nVidia drivers in it. It failed
everytime with the same a strange error popup window appearing just
before the progress bar went 100% (I tried 3~4 times). At the end, the
app. which was installing the driver hanged and I had to close it with
'Force Quit' applet.

However, after I killed the hanging window I tried to re-create the bug
to take a screenshot of the error message, but I saw that my driver is
installed instead. Well, I'am happy it is but the application is surely
was behaving buggy and I was very surprised that it actually managed to
install nVidia driver.

What's even more strange, when I launched the desktop properties via
context menu for desktop change wallpaper. And tried to turn on
desktop effects (compiz) it prompted me to install nVidia driver again
(but I saw that it is already installed just a minute ago!). I clicked
okay and the application is swinging the progress bar and I'am waiting
to see what will happen next.

A massage box shown with a message:
Please run Appearance/Desktop Effects again after restarting the computer,
when the new graphics driver is active.
So maybe it tried to install the nVidia driver again because it wasn't active
yet? I don't know, I hope you know.

I'am going down for a restart now and see what will happen (I have a 4gb
persistance file so my driver should be saved for live session)

I hope this information will be helpful :-) Thank you for your support!
