[Bug 827626] Re: pidgin-libnotify not enabled and wont allow for enabling

2011-08-20 Thread zeruke
i have found a custom pidgin-libnotify that tries to use the unity
launchers to display the amount of missed messages(usually adds a few
extra then whats there) and works for the usual stuff too at
https://launchpad.net/~jfi/+archive/pidgin/+packages which is for natty
but does work with Oneiric so maybe patch it a bit to work with the
unity launcher better and put it in the main repository or something

[Bug 677166] Re: Blender(2.49b) uses up swap space, crashes system

2011-05-01 Thread zeruke
its probably that you dont have the amount of ram needed because things
on ram usually move to swap when they are not being used or there is too
much stuff on ram...also sence it blender 2.4x id recomend trying
2.5x which you would have to use this ppa ppa:cheleb/blender-svn ,
download from blender.org , or get a build from graphicall.org

but still if you dont have a good amount of ram the same thing will most
likely happen but if this is an actuall bug it should be fixed up in the
2.5x series

getting the error that it couldn't get the lock

[Bug 697095] Re: polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1 crashed with SIGSEGV in g_datalist_id_set_data_full() during login

2011-04-03 Thread zeruke
@dave morley

it doesn't seem that way to me because sometimes it happens from just
installing something, just logging in after logging out, logging in from
a suspended state, restarting, updating, and logging in from a cold boot

also for people who haven't looked up what the polkit is for "defining and
handling the policy
that allows unprivileged processes to speak to privileged processes" so
something is happening when gaining or dismissing a privilege to cause this

[Bug 741474] Re: Compiz doesn't appear to respect GNOME's mouse theme setting.

2011-04-02 Thread zeruke
you can also see this with using unity and the only way(by what i'v
seen) around it right now is by going through what is shown at
http://www.webupd8.org/2010/08/how-to-change-mouse-cursor-theme-in.html

this can become very annoying at times so it would be good if a fix can
be done so not to have to go through those steps

[Bug 731559] Re: Window content disappears leaving just a white area after enlarging window

2011-04-02 Thread zeruke
hmmm this seems sorta like my problem but its mostly on a secondary
screen and only happens when compiz is enabled which i have made a bug
report( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/739103 )
so someone should help to check to see if its the same problem or two
different ones with the same symptom

[Bug 739103] Re: window appears white when resized at times on a secondary screen sometimes primary

2011-03-31 Thread zeruke
it really seems like compiz is the problem.the only one i had it
enabled in what the unity desktop and after enabling it in the other
environments the same thing happen with or without the dock..i have
tried it in unity, unity2D, the classic gnome, xfce, and kdeall of
them showed the same results

i could add the snapshots but theres no point when they all show the
same thing the first one did which the secondary screen getting a white
overlay when somethings resized to a point which is usually random.

also i have all of the updates in natty

[Bug 707209] Re: unity main top bar in displays in wrong area (multi-head issue)

2011-03-01 Thread zeruke
this bug was not fixed... i am still having the same problems even with
unity - 3.6.0-0ubuntu1 but now its were once i set it up compiz gets a
fault and stops were i have to use compiz --restart and then the top bar
changes positions no matter the resolution set and some times it appears
onto the secondary screen instead of the primary screen where if you try
to open the dash the dash appears on the primary too.

[Bug 726242] [NEW] launcher randomly appears and disappears repeatedly when useing autohide

2011-02-27 Thread zeruke
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unity

as said at random times the launcher starts appears and disappears
repeatedly when useing auto hide... sometimes at startup sometimes in
the middles of something making it hard to do things because it takes
focus at the topthis doesn't cause much problems if you have
something maximized.you can get it to stop by going into CCSM and
making the launcher to never hide and then re-enable auto hide, but
problems will sometimes presiste with auto hide because you cant get the
launcher to be used

i will see about recording some of it once i can find a camera to do so

[Bug 711409] Re: -nvidia broken after Jan 31st updates, because it does not yet support xserver 1.10

2011-02-16 Thread zeruke
well to me i think that 270.26 is actually some kind of placeholder
since its not showing up on the beta driver page... and im sure there
will be another release soon but i think they are waiting till the xorg
ABI has become stable

[Bug 711591] Re: does not detect resolution correctly(xserver-xorg-video-nouveau causes graphic corruption were you cant do anything)

2011-02-10 Thread zeruke
the patch fixes it were now i can see for the most part but it doesnt
fix what was going on befor the compleate blocking of the screen

still has a small tiling of about 3 or so when resolution is at
1280x800(16:10) which i believe is my screens native resolutionthat
tiling is fixed by lowering the resolution which i now have at
1024x768(4:3)

it seems to have the small tiling when the aspect ratio is at (16:10)
and (9:5), all resolutions using the aspect ratio (4:3) shows things
perfectly when using the patch

that helps for some people and iv tried that and shadowFB and a
combination of them and both gave the same results of an unusable
GUIand by the looks of it its started doing this stuff sence a few
patches by whats came up on the upstream bug report, so you might want
to keep checking on that end too

the segfault seems to be a known problem to nvidia, also by the sounds
of it the next release for the driver should work without needing to add
the ignoreABI but still unsure on that, also by the looks of it the next
release should happen sometime this month

2011-02-03 Thread zeruke
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xorg

this is probably a known issue...but xorg chooses wrong resolution on
live discs which causes bad graphical issues untill you figure out how
to get the resolution lower.for me it used to be were i could figure
it out but it seems now i cant because its really messed up as shown on
  the jpeg i added

and usually it does the same after installing which really causes
problems so it might be good to put it as safe graphics by default.

this one shown on the screenshot is from the 31-Jan-2011 daily live
  using a cell phone camera

  edit:
for some more info im useing a HP Pavilion dv6605us with a nvidia GeForce
7150M /nForce 630M built-in graphics the max screen resolution is 1280x800 for
the screen which is a 15"

  edit2:
it seems nouveau is part of the problem because now no matter the resolution
i use i get the same graphical issues and i know that nouveau loads at default
when using nvidia till a different driver is loaded for it

[Bug 711591] Re: does not detect resolution corectly

2011-02-02 Thread zeruke
** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xorg

this is probably a known issue...but xorg chooses wrong resolution on
live discs which causes bad graphical issues untill you figure out how
to get the resolution lower.for me it used to be were i could figure
it out but it seems now i cant because its really messed up as shown on
  the jpeg i added

and usually it does the same after installing which really causes
problems so it might be good to put it as safe graphics by default.

this one shown on the screenshot is from the 31-Jan-2011 daily live
  using a cell phone camera

  edit:
for some more info im useing a HP Pavilion dv6605us with a nvidia GeForce
7150M /nForce 630M built-in graphics the max screen resolution is 1280x800 for
the screen which is a 15"
+
+ edit2:
+ it seems nouveau is part of the problem because now no matter the resolution
i use i get the same graphical issues and i know that nouveau loads at default
when using nvidia till a different driver is loaded for it

2011-02-02 Thread zeruke
** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xorg

in natty the latest update i did dealing with xorg broke my nvidia
driver and then had it were all i could get to in my system was the
CLI...i had to create a .Xauthority and then it showed that the gnaric
drivers were not working to display gdm or anything but the CLI and said
something about the VGA and screen going agenst each other (i dont
  remember how it was put)

  i am attaching .xsession-error

also i did try to install the latist daily build of natty but the
instillation failed after the kernel so i can be of much help till i re-
  install a previous build

[Bug 711409] Re: latest update broke nvidia

2011-02-02 Thread zeruke
well with me i cant use nouveau's latest update because of the graphical
issues that wont fix up when changing resolution anymoreand on the
actual driver from nvidia there's probably a need for a patch or need to
get them to get a new version up

[Bug 711591] Re: does not detect resolution corectly

2011-02-01 Thread zeruke
i did some checking by doing all of the resolutions i could by adding
vga=(whatever resolution) which makes it seem to be more of a driver
problem which by what i know the default for the daily live build is
nouveau...

[Bug 692242] Re: BCM4321 Random channel

2011-02-01 Thread zeruke
hmm to me it seems it happens for everyonei know this happens to me
and that the driver usually chooses the best set up but if you really
want it forced one way you should be able to do something like "iwconfig
eth1 channel 11" to find out what channels are available use
something in terms of "iwlist eth1 channel"

you may need to use sudo
