[Bug 113552] Re: SD card is spontaneously unmounted when files are copied to it
ikr, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a terminal, as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER If reproducible, could you also please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page (not the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested exactly shown as: kernel-fixed-upstream-3.17-rc6 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test the current Ubuntu version (10.10). If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect , and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- SD card is spontaneously unmounted when files are copied to it https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/113552 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Ben, It should be possible to test today as LiveCD images are available daily for ;crack of the day' builds of the software. [Bug 113552] Re: SD card is spontaneously unmounted when files are copied to it
Not trying to mix issues... in my case the card worked and I was copying files off and then it just hung. Now whenever I insert the card the PC just hangs - I am posting it here as it seems like the same issue because the card (or driver) is unmounting itself. same problem as original poster. 06:00.3 Mass storage controller: Texas Instruments PCI7420/7620 Combo CardBus, 1394a-2000 OHCI and SD/MS-Pro Controller Subsystem: LG Electronics, Inc. Unknown device 0014 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 57, IRQ 16 Memory at c4005000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K] Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2 Card is mounted fine and can see the contents of the card. When i try to copy a 1 MB jpg file over to my HD the card will unmount while saying the same message as the original poster and then mount itself back again. Even if i view the jpg file it will do the same. Sometimes i might get 1 file across sometimes i will get 1 and a half files across. Sometimes none. It will unmount at random times but usually a couple of seconds after copying. -- SD card is spontaneously unmounted when files are copied to it https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/113552 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
