Ramón Casero, Saucy is EOL as of July 17, 2014. For more on this please see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases . If you can reproduce an issue in a supported
release, it would help immensely if you filed a new report via a terminal:

2015-03-06 Thread Ramón Casero
[Sorry for multiple comments]

I managed to copy the files to the same card using Windows 7, to discard
hardware error.

From Ubuntu, as reported above, the copy starts and after a few seconds
the card just gets spontaneously unmounted.

[Bug 113552] Re: SD card is spontaneously unmounted when files are copied to it

2014-10-12 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
ikr, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a terminal, as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

If reproducible, could you also please test the latest upstream kernel
available from the very top line at the top of the page (not the daily folder)
following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow
additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the
upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you
tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested exactly
shown as:
kernel-fixed-upstream-3.17-rc6

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil
icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

2010-11-29 Thread Teej
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all
reported bugs in a timely manner.
There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and
your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a
lot if you could test the current Ubuntu version (10.10). If you can test it,
and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs
by running apport-collect bug #, and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

2010-03-13 Thread Jeremy Foshee
Ben,
It should be possible to test today as LiveCD images are available daily
for ;crack of the day' builds of the software. These operate the same as
released LiveCDs and are non invasive to your system, just like the LiveCD is.

Sooner is better than later on testing this. We are in the last stages
of bug fix before we freeze everything down to test.

Thanks!

~JFo

That may have something to do with it. I'm using a 32 bit version. I

anything special to your install or is just fresh from the box? I did a
clean install a few days ago and haven't updated anything yet.

well. Under Ubunto 8.10 it has improved in that my system does not hang
when the card is mounted, but it still keeps unmounting/remounting the

Since it's been a very long time since any additional info was added to
this bug, I'm just checking to see if this is still an issue, and find
out what additional work should be done on this bug.

[Bug 113552] Re: SD card is spontaneously unmounted when files are copied to it

2008-11-29 Thread Jonas
Problem still exist. I tested on Ubuntu 8.10 with Nokia 6233. USB data storage
does not appear in drive list. I can see that kernel try to mount, phone
displays that it is transferring data, but it stays like that all the time.
...
[ 946.887172] sd 8:0:0:0: [sdb] Add. Sense: No additional sense information
[ 946.894158] sd 8:0:0:0: [sdb] Sense Key : No Sense [current]
[ 946.894173] sd 8:0:0:0: [sdb] Add. Sense: No additional sense information
[ 946.901181] sd 8:0:0:0: [sdb] Sense Key : No Sense [current]
...
Before phone software was updated everything was fine. After update this
problem started to happen. On windows everything is fine even after update. I
can connect phone and manage files on the phone as if it was before update. It
is possible that problem is in the phone and linux kernel is sensitive to that
bug and windows is not.

[Bug 113552] Re: SD card is spontaneously unmounted when files are copied to it

2008-06-16 Thread Craig
Not trying to mix issues... in my case the card worked and I was copying
files off and then it just hung. Now whenever I insert the card the PC
just hangs - I am posting it here as it seems like the same issue
because the card (or driver) is unmounting itself.

I have exactly the same problem using the internal SD card reader of an

Trying to copy anything from the card yields the following entries in

[and repeat...]

I consider myself lucky if I can read one file of the card, most of the
time even this does not work. Listing the directory works fine, however.

Card is mounted fine and can see the contents of the card. When i try to copy a
1 MB jpg file over to my HD the card will unmount while saying the same message
as the original poster and then mount itself back again. Even if i view the jpg
file it will do the same. Sometimes i might get 1 file across sometimes i will
get 1 and a half files across. Sometimes none. It will unmount at random times
but usually a couple of seconds after copying.
