[Bug 115526] Re: Gnome-RDP couldn't handle saved password for VNC connections
ugs.. I think somebody have forgot the rdp password bug... :-( I read the changes from bugs.debian.org und see, that he don`t fixed it. But I think it is my fault, while I was thinking, that it is the same bug. Now I see, that is it not supported to give the password on the command line to vnc -- Gnome-RDP couldn't handle saved password for VNC connections https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/115526 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 115526] Re: Gnome-RDP couldn't handle saved password for VNC connections
bug is also present in gnome-rdp 0.2.2-0ubuntu5. Its not limited to VNC while I got the same bug in RDP. Workaround is, that you save your passwords with Quotes. my-secret-password or better 'my-secret-password' I am not sure, but when you have also problems with this, try to escape. eg: 'my/'secret/'passwort' -- Gnome-RDP couldn't handle saved password for VNC connections https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/115526 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 115526] Re: Gnome-RDP couldn't handle saved password for VNC connections
I'm the Debian maintainer of gnome-rdp, and now also part of upstream development. We're now working on getting a newer version out, since gnome-rdp has rapidly changed two (or maybe three) maintainers, its code became unmaintained/messy. Now, we're two working on it. I hope we'll get something out very soon, but please don't add useless discrepancies between Debian and Ubuntu. If you want, sync with 0.2.2-3, which is present in Debian, but *please*, don't package 0.2.2.3 (or any other upstream version, since we're at 0.2.2.9 by now, but it's not usable) by yourself. Well, this is just a suggestion, and I'm not involved with Ubuntu. So, in the end, do whatever you feel. [Bug 115526] Re: Gnome-RDP couldn't handle saved password for VNC connections
It seems that Gnome-RDP ignores all or at least some compression options. In connection properties menu under VNC it is possible to choose the compression level and image quality (jpeg compression) of the tight compression algorithm but it is ignored. If I choose quality 0 in tightvncviewer and connect I got the usual jpeg fractals and the connection is very fast but with gnome-rdp and the same settings it takes ages to get the first image and the quality perfect. Maybe gnome- rdp ignores the quality settings or which is more likely an other compression algorithm is used. I have tested is with Gnome as vnc host. -- Gnome-RDP couldn't handle saved password for VNC connections https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/115526 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
