Ok, in Gutsy it works. After a sudo chmod +s /usr/bin/cpufreq- selector, everything is confurable vie the applet. But why is this behavior not the default? Nearly the same problem here. With Feisty upgrade, the Scaling Governor was changed to performance, but ondemand was still available anyway and I could change it back. Yesterday, I installed security updates that had been announced through Adept. Afterwards, no Governorns are available at all.
