[Bug 117079] Re: CPU Frequency Applet isn't configurable since Feisty

2007-10-20 Thread nordlicht.ol
Ok, in Gutsy it works. After a sudo chmod +s /usr/bin/cpufreq-
selector, everything is confurable vie the applet. But why is this
behavior not the default? Would be very useful for Notebook-Users...

Thanks for the reply. I've triaged this as a wishlist request against
linux-source-2.6.22. However against linux-source-2.6.20, this bug does
not meet the criteria for a stable release update and is being marked as
Won't Fix. You can learn more about the stable release update process at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates .  Thanks!

[Bug 117079] Re: CPU Frequency Applet isn't configurable since Feisty

2007-10-18 Thread Leann Ogasawara
nordlicht.ol, now that the 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon release of Ubuntu is out,
we were wondering if you can still reproduce this issue. Could you
please download and try the new version of Ubuntu from
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download and report back your results.
If the issue is still present in the new release, please attach the
following information:

* uname -a  uname-a.log
* cat /proc/version_signature  version.log
* dmesg  dmesg.log
* sudo lspci -vvnn  lspci-vvnn.log

Please be sure to attach each file as a separate attachment. For more
information regarding the kernel team bug policy, please refer to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies . Thanks again and we
appreciate your help and feedback.

Thank you for your bug. To confirm by somebody having a CPU allowing
frequency change. Not likely a gnome-applets bug which didn't change
from months, reassigning to linux

[Bug 117079] Re: CPU Frequency Applet isn't configurable since Feisty

2007-05-27 Thread rumburak
Nearly the same problem here.
With Feisty upgrade, the Scaling Governor was changed to performance, but
ondemand was still available anyway and I could change it back.
Yesterday, I installed security updates that had been announced through Adept.
Afterwards, no Governorns are available at all.
There should be sth. like
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor but instead, under
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/ there are only one file crash_notes and a
folder topology/ with four files core_id, physical_package_id,
core_siblings, thread_siblings in it.
