I also use a SSD. The standard Kubuntu installer did fail (13.04). Obviously the Hack from Red did solve the dpkg error, but I am wondering what causes this error. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1178534 Title: error processing grub-efi-amd64 (2.00-13ubuntu3) in 13.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1178534/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1178534] Re: error processing grub-efi-amd64 (2.00-13ubuntu3) in 13.04
Yep I have this problem - very frustrasting that the 13.04 install can't handle this nicely. Resorted to the boot-repair utility on the linux- secure disk (formally ubuntu secure). This got the system booting but left this error which occurred everytime I installed something. The dirty hack from Red above fixed the error but I don't know if whatever caused it will bite back later. The install bug needs fixing and the script needs to not fail. BTW for somereason everything just worked on a HDD but all this trouble occured when I tried to install on an SSD -no idea why. If you got here looking for ubuntu fails to install on SSD grub then get boot-repair and run it from a live CD, repair the SSD boot (gave me erros but worked), boot and if you experience this error complain (and use Red's hack).

^ Grub is also installed on my SSD hard drive too. [Bug 1178534] Re: error processing grub-efi-amd64 (2.00-13ubuntu3) in 13.04
Hi I'm experiencing the same problem with Grub uefi. My system is a single OS rig with Ubuntu Gnome 13.04 installed using the 3.10 kernel (issues with a 7750 graphics card!). The Grub issue was also present before I upgraded the kernel from the Ubuntu kernel ppa. My system boots OK but wont upgrade Grub and other than some unrelated performance issues works fine. Having done some research people appear to be having similar issues with Grub. When I checked in Synaptic a number of Grub related packages were installed some of which appear to be unnecessary. Obviously I didn't want to delete them and make my system unbootable, but was wondering which packages are required. [Bug 1178534] Re: error processing grub-efi-amd64 (2.00-13ubuntu3) in 13.04
I had the same problem, and I went to freenode, #ubuntu and asked for help. It seems the postinstall script just fails at cleaning up. A dirty quickfix is to open grub-efi-amd64.postinst in /var/lib/dpkg/info/ with a text editor as root and adding exit 0 right after 'set -e' in the top of the file. Then just run dpkg --configure -a as root in a terminal. It worked for me, no idea if it'll work for anyone else. My computer did boot up normally before I got rid of the problem though. //Use at your own risk.// -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1178534 Title: error processing grub-efi-amd64 (2.00-13ubuntu3) in 13.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1178534/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
