[Bug 121356] Re: options usbhid mousepoll=x ignored

2015-04-20 Thread Anthony Dee
Hello,

I hope I'm not causing any annoyance but I am desperate to change my
mousepoll rate in linux mint 17.1

And I have tried alot of solution, none of them worked.

I have in
# /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time.
#
# This file contains the names of kernel modules that should be loaded
# at boot time, one per line. Lines beginning with "#" are ignored.
# Parameters can be specified after the module name.
lp
rtc
-r usbhid
usbhid mousepoll=2

and I have created file

# /etc/modprobe.d/options
options usbhid mousepoll=2

Then I have ran

sudo update-initramfs -k all -u

rebooted and with no luck, I am still at 125mhz (my mouse is 1000mhz
capable, I had 1000mhz when running Feisty)

I would like to mention that

sudo rmmod usbhid
sudo modprobe usbhid mousepoll=2
wont change the polling rate to 500Hz

[Bug 121356] Re: options usbhid mousepoll=x ignored

2010-03-17 Thread Alistair Buxton
I ran into this today. The reason why /etc/modprobe.d/ gets ignored is
because usbhid is loaded from the initramfs before the rootfs is
mounted. You must rebuild the initramfs to include your modified options
like this:

sudo update-initramfs -k all -u

Installing a kernel update will also do this so perhaps reporter changed
the options before applying updates, causing the problem to appear to
fix itself. Or perhaps the problem way back then was totally different.
Anyway, I post ths solution for the next person who has this problem.

Probably fixed by one of the updates.
Closing then, feel free to reopen if the problem returns.

[Bug 121356] Re: options usbhid mousepoll=x ignored

2007-08-02 Thread klerfayt
this is really strange. I did complete reinstall of Kubuntu Feisty Fawn
today and added "options usbhid mousepoll=1" to /etc/modprobe.d/options
after applying all Feisty updates. Now the usb mouse polling rate is
500Hz.

modprobe -c | grep usbhid
options usbhid mousepoll=1
alias usb:v*p*d*dc*dsc*dp*ic03isc*ip* usbhid
alias symbol:hiddev_hid_event usbhid

uname -a
Linux kohvi 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Thu Jun 7 20:19:32 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

Thanks for your bug report.

What it the output of the following command:
$ modprobe -c | grep usbhid

What happens if you make sure the module is modprobed by adding usbhid
to /etc/modules?
