Recently I came across the Recoll Unity lens and it DOES index all the metadata (using exiftool) in my test images and I can then quickly search for those images in Unity. Hi, for speed reasons, metadata is not fully parsed and not available to the search for local photos. The only searchable tags are the one added (manually/automatically) in Shotwell. On the bright side, this might be fixed for 14.04. Cool, I look forward to seeing full support of XMP-dwc in 14.04. In the meantime, I'll do some testing with Flickr Picasa, to see if XMP-dwc data is preserved and searchable.
