Two more upstream releases have come and gone without a fix since this was reported. I noticed that this .desktop file right now can't launch rkward under GNOME, because it invokes konsole, however the simple rkward command doesn't work out of a terminal (konsole or gnome-terminal). making changes directly on a makefile as you did is a grave error, remember to use patches in case you need to work on source code. If someone will automake this your changes will disappear, so it would be nice to see a fixed debdiff before uploading this. Andrea, rkward doesn't use a patch system so making changes directly to the Makefile.am is appropriate. I don't understand why the .desktop uses konsole to start rkward. I loaded rkward fine from konsole and gnome-terminal. I think that it is very nasty to restrict rkward to konsole (and konsole is not a dependency). I think Terminal=True should work. If not that is a bug upstream at least.
