[Bug 140017] Re: tracker doesn't follow symlinks
Old issue, but my favorite search engine seems to find this report more easily than this upstreaam report https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=726264 ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #726264 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=726264 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/140017 Title: tracker doesn't follow symlinks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tracker/+bug/140017/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 140017] Re: tracker doesn't follow symlinks
there is no way to have tracker follow symlink if they are specifically among the recursively indexed locations? most of my home is built on symlinks - with some apps they are so insanely useful, and then some apps just ignore them leaving people who take advantage of them in the cold. on one hand it wouldn't matter to just index the actual location but with something like zeitgeist - won't it see the files opened with nautilus through symlinks and files opened with tracker search as different files? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/140017 Title: tracker doesn't follow symlinks -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 140017] Re: tracker doesn't follow symlinks
This is not a bug, it's a feature! Seriously, this is by design. If tracker would follow symlinks, it could end up in a loop. ** Changed in: tracker (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low Status: New = Won't Fix -- tracker doesn't follow symlinks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/140017 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
