2015-05-01 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Jens Herrmann, following up on
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1414778/comments/7 ,
given this issue is not reproducible in 15.04, would you need a backport
to a release prior to Vivid, or may this be closed as Status Invalid?

This is strange, I remember having answered this weeks ago and had also
received a reply of yours. I was not able to reproduce the bug in 15.04.
and you wrote this would likely not be fixed in 14.10. except I manage
to convince the developers of its importance.

Are you referring to another bug report? If so, which on precisely?

[Bug 1414778] Re: Click and draw of certain links results in double mouse pointer

2015-03-01 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Jens Herrmann, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg

Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes
button for attaching additional debugging information.

As well, given the information from the prior release is already
available, testing a release prior to the development one would not be
helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1414778] Re: Click and draw of certain links results in double mouse pointer

2015-01-29 Thread mark
This appears to potentially be the same bug as
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1393169.

As mentioned there, I have the same problem in Utopic AMD64 with MATE
1.8.1; this began immediately on my upgrade from Trusty to Utopic and
continues to the present. I have a double mouse pointer appear
intermittently during web browsing (Firefos 35.0.1), often when click-
dragging a link to open in new tab, and then it persists. Although two
pointers are visible only the left pointer is active. If I log out and
back in, the single mouse pointer is restored.

This is a Lenovo IdeaPad Y510P with the latest BIOS, and I am fully
updated on Utopic AMD64 with no broken packages etc.
