In Kubuntu Jaunty today I have installed the compiz-kde package, because compiz depends on compiz-gnome (I think it should depend on compiz- gnome | compiz-kde, bug #347077 ) and compizconfig-settings-manager. Now I can confirm this bug still exists, there are no icons in CCSM. Installing librsvg2-common fixes the problem. I haven't tried to use Compiz since KDE4 came along, and I'm reluctant to install it in case it mucks something up (I find graphics a bit like a house of cards--once it works, don't play with it). But CCSM still doesn't, as far as I can tell, have a dependency on either part of librsvg2, so if the icons are still in that format, I guess the same thing still happens.
