I haven't tried to use Compiz since KDE4 came along, and I'm reluctant to install it in case it mucks something up (I find graphics a bit like a house of cards--once it works, don't play with it). But CCSM still doesn't, as far as I can tell, have a dependency on either part of librsvg2, so if the icons are still in that format, I guess the same thing still happens.
