[Bug 1896525] Re: Fatal Error
I had this problem with Xubuntu 20.10 trying to install using KVM/QEMU but as it was only a VM i wiped it clean, tried formatting the partition with a gpt partition table and created both an EFI and a bios-boot partition but still no joy. I'm not sure if you can use gpt and UEFI within a KVM install, so that may be a "red herring" I will try again today and ignore the error in the hope that grub has actually been installed. [Bug 1896525] Re: Fatal Error
I downloaded Lubuntu 20.10 to install in virtual box. The installation started with Shell instead of the installer. UEFI Interactive Shell v2.2 with Mapping table. This should be reviewed on all 20.10 Distributions. I was not able to start the installation due to a failure in the installer. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1896525 Title: Fatal Error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1896525/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1896525] Re: Fatal Error
I had the same or a similar problem with installing Ubuntu Budgie 20.10. I hadn't checked the disk with Gparted beforehand as I have never had a problem before and the partitions are normally shown and selectable/changeable as part of the Ubuntu installation process, which I assume should detect errors. I went on install Ubuntu Budgie 20.04 instead and there were no problems. That suggests to me that there was nothing wrong with my disk and that the problem was caused by a new version of Ubiquity in 20.10 which has a bug. ** Attachment added: "Error message" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1896525/+attachment/5419975/+files/ubiquity.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1896525 Title: Fatal Error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1896525/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
