How do you do download but do not install in the update-manager Is there a command line switch? I haven't found the GUI? bug 194984 appears to be different - in that bug, there is no connection and update-manager consumes resources. The other bug (this one) is that in download but not install mode if it checks for updates and say finds that 4 updates are available but is only able to download 1 by the time the laptop was turned off; it does not resume downloading the remaining 3 before indicating that updates are available; neither does it check if more updates are now available. laltopi, This sounds like something that has been noted before in bug 194984. Essentially that update-manager needs better awareness of the presence or absence of a network connection and to behave accordingly.
