From the package perspective we cannot fix your issue at this time. The reason is that many remotes have separate buttons for these actions and if we were to remove one or the other it would be detrimental to those remotes. There are being some ideas tossed around on a better handling of specific remotes, however at this time and for the purpose of this bug it cannot be changed. However, the ~/.lirc/mythtv file generated by mythbuntu-lirc-generator has two entries mapping the play/pause button to the 'P' action. Because of this any attempt to pause an playing video doesn't work as it unpauses as soon as it is first paused. The simplest workaround for this problem is to edid the ~/.lirc/mythtv file to remove the second mapping and the problem goes away. From looking at this file this appears to be a problem with other DVICO remotes as well. goto /usr/share/pycentral/mythbuntu-lirc-generator/site- packages/MythbuntuLircGenerator and edit as root the mythtvhandler.py Add the following below play/pause :P, \ then edit the core.py play/pause:^playpause, \ save both, then re run the lirc-generator! - you might need to add these custom keys to the rest of the py scripts This forces the playpause to use only one button as a config.
