More debugging. (1) if I start unconnected from the dock, I can suspend/resume normally. If I connect to the dock, then remove the computer, the problem occurs. A bit more information (1) the bug happens whenever I resume and am unconnected to the dock. E.g. if I suspend unconnected and resume unconnected, it happens. (2) The system is not completely unresponsive. Sometimes, if I bash enough of the Fn keys, it eventually resumes properly - in particular, if I hit the Sleep key combination. (3) Also, the bug is intermittent. Yes, exactly the same bug exists with kernel 2.6.26-5. When I try to copy /proc/acpi to /tmp I get /proc/acpi/event: Device or resource busy.
