Re: [Bug 274392] Re: gnome-language-selector doesn't install missing language pack

2008-10-07 Thread miky91
The missing packages are language-pack-kde-{en|it} and
language-pack-kde-{en|it}-base and I'm sure they are not installed (i run
the commands you suggested me in the previous message).

I know that it doesn't do anything because it should appear the synaptic's
window showing you it is downloading and installing the packages, but after
i type the correct password, it doesn't do anything for some seconds (3-4
sec.) and then appears the checking available language support window,
instead of the synaptic's one. After this the Language support window is
already opened and the missing packages aren't installed because if I close
the program and i run it again it shows me the same missing packages.

How do you know that it doesn't do anything? Do you get this message
 every time you start language-selector?

What should happen is: install the language-pack-{gnome|kde}-$lang
paackages if they are missing, depending on if you have Gnome or KDE or
 both applications installed.

You can check if those packages are installed with:
 dpkg -l language-pack-gnome-it
 dpkg -l language-pack-kde-it
